An Update Regarding Clouddark Demimateria

Greetings everyone!

We appreciate the feedback we've received so far regarding the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) and would like to provide an update about its rewards.

We are currently working on adding the ability to exchange several Clouddark Demimateria I for Clouddark Demimateria II in Patch 7.16. With this in mind, you may want to hold on to excess Clouddark Demimateria I that you currently have in your possession.

We'll be considering further adjustments based on the comments we receive, and would appreciate any other feedback you would be willing to share!

So I have to assume that since people are lacking clouddark II and not clouddark I, then it means they're in majority farming through parties of people that have exclusively cleared and get the minimum amount of materia rewards every time and just hope to get good loot rng?

If this is true, then this seems to hint at a partial or complete failure in the design baked behind the clouddark materia II which is supposed to be bolstered when helping new players clear the content for the first time if people aren't taking advantage of it...

One bonus window I went only with duty incomplete enrage/clear parties and in three hours I had 0 clears.

Next day, went for duty complete and did 4+ clears per hour, no wipes.

I'm seeing some PF picking up a couple of duty incomplete people and then filling the majority with duty complete, that might work too.

A little progress is better than no progress at all.

Add the minion to demi 1 currency and we got a perfect system. It can still be high like the hair, dais, or cloud if still want to encourage more clears because the bonus windows helps.

I tend to do farm parties during the bonus, and late prog or enrage/clear parties when it’s not up. One of the parties I was in last night had 10 first-time clears!

There do seem to be more “clear 4 X” parties up than full first-timer groups, but there still seems to be a good number of prog parties going at various stages. I wouldn’t say the first-timer bonus is dead by any means, but I don’t think it’ll ever be as high as it was the first week again.
