They should update Island Sanctuary to allow you to build a home and it would become the instanced housing some prefer while keeping the wards intact as I like the neighborhood feel of them along with others. It's already there and would just need to have the housing plot size of your choice added, so it shouldn't need much more work on paper needed to pull this off. This would go a long way to getting good will from those that are upset at the current system. They can even make you buy the size plot you wish to have to be even with the ward plots so it'll serve as a gil sink too.

They've yet to fix the leaky roof on my Cozy Cabin. It's not so cozy if you're always drenched in cold rain.

There needs to be a friends who's limited instance housing. So that way whoever wants to decorate and invite their friends over can, However your house will not be able to be used as a venue. Or freely accessible like the ward houses.

If it's off the demolition timer then it needs trade off.

You want the visibility/venue but don't have a plot? buy a apt

You want housing but want to take breaks frequently? Apts/instanced plot

You want something bigger/visible/venue and are willing to stay subbed for extended periods? Try for a ward plot.

You don't care about the visibility/venue , but just want something to decorate? Instanced housing that's friends list limited

Why shouldn't we be able to use an island house as a venue?
The island should be able to be run however we wish. We got the island as a reward for saving the universe and it was even encouraged that we use the island however we wish. Didn't that lalafel bring over a lot of people to give them a tour? We should have a house and make it a venue if we wish. I don't like venues- Not my style- but I don't see a problem with anyone wanting to do it themselves.

I have a small personal house, a medium FC house, and an apartment and I've decorated them all (I'm in the process of redecorating the cottage with the new minimalist design) and I would love to have a mansion on my island. Even better would be to have a mansion with zero item limit!

I would honestly love the option to build a house on my island. I don't have it maxed out yet, but the prospect of that kind of reward would make me very eager to get it there, and the island itself is such a gorgeous and diverse space that it would be trivial to set the house up in an area with incredible views, beach access, and all the space we could want.

You should do the work to max it out. There is definitely room for a large house on that island. It's worth the effort to complete the quests there and it's really nice when you get flying for the place.

I'd gladly give up my cottage and drop a million gil to have a large house on my island!

Well, having more options is always nice, wouldn't have one myself but it would be nice to see what people do with and Island home.

It could be done… they’d need to make a new area to put the housing plot, just so it’s not interfering with gathering spawns and such.

They could take the themes from the granary missions of the different island zones for you to choose what your island plot looks like: Meandering Meadows, Fatal Falls, Mossy Mountains, etc. This is what so many of us were hoping would be the final reward of the Island, but sadly it never came.

Unfortunately I think it’s highly unlikely we’ll see any updates to the Island at this point.

I have been for years now. I would much rather have my own little instance than be in a ward. But I have also had issues with neighbors over the years due to having a large house which some ppl, even some FCs, feel entitled to use for their own rp purposes, meaning I have to remove outside furniture and lock it down and let no one in anyway. GMs wouldn't even do anything about it, even when I caught them erping. So yeah, give me a instanced house to myself and my large can go to a venue for all I care.

I rarely even see my neighbors but you bring up a good point. I think they updated the housing controls so you can blacklist people instead of locking down your house altogether, but depending on how big an FC you’re dealing with, that might not work for you!

My ward house is nice, but I’d give it up in an instant for an instanced plot that I could choose the background scenery of, and that by design would not need to be subject to auto-demo because it isn’t taking away a limited resource from anyone else. Just being able to have something like that and know it will always be there for me would be a comfort in this increasingly crazy world we’re living in!

That's really bizarre and unfortunate you have to deal with those kind of things. I fortunately have good neighbors and they have their homes nicely decorated at both of my larges in Seraph and Exodus. I also don't mind people gposing at my homes and gardens because that's one major reason I love decorating them in the first place. My homes are unlocked and I love seeing people gposing in them and thankfully, no erp yet unlike my first cottage in my onsen in my yard xD. But I really do hope they add instance housing or at least offer you to be able to upgrade the size of your apartments. Venues would also like the Island Sanctuary because you can decorate the courtyards with a 90 slot limit. I also wouldn't be against the plots being more expensive if it means it's permanent without fear of auto demolishing. That would suck if they had auto demolition on instance housing to keep people subbed and I hope they don't.
