What is now known as Lupin was originally part of the concepts when they were brainstorming about what the Au Ra race would be for Heavensward.




Even the Viera was included as the possible Au Ra race.

Shame they decided to go with anime girls and boys with funny scales in their faces instead.

Hopefully at some point, we'll collectively be able to see that we could have both. We should have both, and that we CAN have both. More customisation options, AND a new race, AND have all of them complete from the get go. We do not need to choose. All of this hat nonsense should've been fixed in 2019 when Shadowbringers released.

Do not forget that Dawntrail released 6 months late too. Not only it's entirely on them, AND they have to sort their stuff together. Not the other way around.

They are so bankrupt, they have to probably sacrifice one or two features just to make Lupin. And they won't be able to wear hats either.
That makes 3 races now not being able to wear hats and the backlog piling up, because they intend on keeping that guy's / gal's / team's job that can't make hats.

Where are you getting that Dawntrail was late? It went back to the normal June/July release window we had before COVID.

They did rule it out, but since then they conceded they may be pressured to add more like they were with Male Viera and Female Hrothgar. They were implying that if the demand was high they may have to do it despite their reluctance.

But adding a lot more like Lupin while they can hardly manage hats and extra customization for Viera and Hrothgar doesn't seem worthwhile.

As I mentioned there is the Werewolf set.

Unless anything new came out the last I heard of it was Yoshi-p talking about this at a fanfest and said those were to be the last races but seemed to imply if the community wanted more then it might be a possibility
Though part of me doubts that they would be willing to add more

Personally I'd want them to expand the current character creator more and give more customization options
Like the horn for all faces on Hrothgar, so they can look more like the Ronso they are inspired by
Slightly pointed ears for Hyur so they can be like Hilda
Maybe other variants to Au Ra since we see ones with different colored scales in Radz-at-Han
