Data Center Travel System - Can we remove restrictions now...?

As the title says...is there any plans to remove this soon? It's been over six months since Dawntrail launched. Is there really a necessity to keep travel locked in this state?

It's becoming increasingly frustrating that I cannot visit or play the game with many of my friends who I've made throughout the years...

It's definitely unhealthy for the social aspect of this game. Especially baffling that they chose to leave this congestion nonsense in place while also forcing players to all herd onto a single DC for ranked pvp, creating an unfair advantage for players on Primal.

Yet Aether and Balmung apparently are "congested".

It honestly is time for the community as a whole to push SE to stop this congestion nonsense, the servers arent full nor congested, Aether isnt full, Balmung isnt full, all of Aether almost is open for transfer, Balmung was open not long ago for transfer, stop the hypocrisy SE.

Oh wait this is made to force people to transfer so they can make money off of it. Nevermind then, typical SE.

Just a small edit : The community is just as much as fault as SE, the fact we barely had one thread that reached 20 pages or so since DT was released, and that barely anyone complains about this is ridiculous, the community itself should do better and push them to remove those absolutely ridiculous restrictions, but yet here we are.

The servers are far from congested when I can instantly login without a server wait on my characters that are made there but when I want to visit a friend on that server with idk an alt on same data centers it's still congested. I get the reason when Dawntrail released cause they assume it was going to be big. Someone even mentioned it Idk who did but they are like"Trying to fix a problem that doesn't not even need fixing" with the restrictions still being in place. A lot of people complaining about it and I see so many people camp the aethers of pretty much any server they can get into. How can you do hunt trains on other centers? How can you do the said pvp series if you cannot get onto the DC that is most active for it. I been here since the DC thing release and when it first did so many people played and was so much fun. The server login q? Who cares if we waited a few moments its no biggie lol

If they dont like everyone on aether all the time, make cross dc pf. Pandora's box is open, it cant be shut now

I do not think the change was meant to be temporary. Rather, it was meant to prevent worlds getting overly congested as a result of DC travel or world visit. It's actually important for them to do it for server security.

You can probably get onto them at more quiet hours. Which of course, you may not be available then yourself - that's the very reason they are quiet hours. But if you really want to get onto a specific world you could set your alarm for the middle of night, switch, then stay logged in for as long as you can.

I'm sorry. I can't tell if this is trolling or serious, but regardless this is not a solution. Not to mention - even at 3-5 am I'm unable to get on most worlds in Aether, it's not viable anyway. They need to fix this properly. Also the worlds can't be that congested if they're allowing you to make new characters on those worlds.

Also the worlds can't be that congested if they're allowing you to make new characters on those worlds.

It's most likely due to the way that they do it:

They have a limit on the number of homeworld players logged in. If reached, new characters can't be made.
They have a separate limit on the number of world visitors.
They have a separate limit on the number of DC travelers.

Then the limits on world visitors and DC traveler are tightened significantly if the world has "Congested" status but it's still possible to visit until it reaches the limit.

If you can actually make a new character there successfully, what that suggests is that the server is partially as full as it is due to DC travelers rather than homeworld players.

Perhaps they could make room for more DC travelers when homeworld player counts are low, but they most likely don't want to rob homeworld players of the ability to even login on their homeworld, so I don't think there is an easy answer with it other than your friends visiting a less congested DC.
