I've got enough to complain about now without getting ahead of myself for things that won't happen for another year and a half or so.

I'm going to get a lot of flack for this, but: trim the button bloat.
Do I really need three rows of buttons on my AST if they're all for healing and three different Draw buttons?
Make actions faster and condense combo buttons into single-press combo like in PVP and the Viper job (thank goodness they finally did it).
I'm definitely in the minority, but I don't enjoy pushing 1-2-3 repeatedly.
I'd much rather have the basic combo be one button that changes when pressed.

I could easily see them walk on stage for the 8.0 fanfest and say "After consideration and time restraints, we've decided not to go forward with the full job reworks. Instead you're getting new ability-upgrades through traits, and anything new will be locked behind your 1 or 2 minute buttons. Please look forward to it."
To expect a overhaul like blizzard did back in legion is unrealistic
I just want to see the 2 minute meta gone with only dancer/ast/bard left with buffs, and giving everyone unique cooldown profiles. That alone would be a start for me.

Asking for a friend: why is it unrealistic?
Ability trimming and modernizing of various systems, including the user interface, inventory, character creation, and gameplay - no more purple combat circles, for example - would be a god send for me.

I can count on one hand the number of things in the last 8 years that felt like they had some creativity behind them and weren't just checking boxes on a list.
I’m personally hoping they reconfigure the job system a bit and add class trees.
My dream is cross job talents.
Like pictomancer could meet with ninja and draw mudras like gosetsu
Dancer could mix with bard and become a Artist- singing and dancing
Monk could mix with warrior and become more of a brawler
Bard could mix with viper and drop the songs and become a hunter
Gunbreaker could mix with mechanist and become a gunslinger
Idk I think we really have enough jobs but it would be nice to see variations of the same class.
Other than that I hate how situational each classes skills are.

I think that if the pvp team that is way smaller can do it in one expansion, so can the pve team, and even if the task is far more daunting, so is their team's size.If they want to bring back identity (with balanced jobs) they need to make 15-20 "new jobs" (considering they already have an idea (data + 2.0 - 3.0 jobs)), also I think the game netcode/current pve structure (2mn meta for instance) is a problem
Im 80% sure that the 8.0 rework will be underwhelming, I hope im wrong but I dont have any faith in SE
what do you guys think ?
But where my expectations actually lie are close to zero, or even the negatives. I'm actually scared they'd go for a full double down on everything that I've hated with their changes over the years, because every time we are unhappy with something, they choose instead to nuke the good stuff and continue down the path of the bad.

Sadly for the PVP part, to me it feels like the PVE job team took over in 7.1 and made the skills more like in PVE. A lot of jobs suddenly got "use X ability, then you can use Y ability" as we're also seeing in 7.0 PVE.I think that if the pvp team that is way smaller can do it in one expansion, so can the pve team, and even if the task is far more daunting, so is their team's size.

Jobs like DRK got a combo chain behind it and a followup on LB, or RDM.
Overall also feels a lot more burst-focused than before.
