    Scaleable Difficulty for Content such as Hamlet Defence

    Hi everyone,

    I would like to ask something about scaleable difficulty in content such as Hamlet Defence and similar gameplay situations.

    As is stands right now you can only attend with a full group of 8.
    And while the same does not hold true to the newly implemented Skirmish, I've been already told by my LS mates that you don't really need to attempt it with less than 8 people (though, I may be wrong on that as I haven't tried it out myself).

    To be blatantly honest, I find that unacceptable for obvious reasons and hope that this will be addressed come v2.0.

    While I'm totally fine with story missions and the like requiring 8 members, it's hard to understand the reason for such a mechanic in content mentioned above. It's spammed content and the moment someone leaves and you can't find a replacement immediatly you're either forced to quit or stand around waiting while your leader (or whoever) tries to find a replacement.

    A better approach, in my humble oppionion, would be to reduce the reward (GC seals or whatever) at the end but let us continue playing.

    Well, that basically covers it.
    What does the community think?
    Has something like that already been mentioned?
    Will we be able to replace gone members with our chocobo pet? (I really like that one)

    I don't understand the common notion that smaller parties deserve smaller rewards. The way I see it, relative participation and relative difficulty are much more important when determining rewards than party size. To put it another way, as an individual, my participation and my share of the difficulty should determine what rewards I am due, not solely the number of people in the party.

    Now, the suggestion at hand, content that scales with party size, is actually a good idea. Dynamic scaling may be rather difficult, but setting it when the event begins should not be. For those who prefer 8-man content, nothing changes. But for those who may only be able to find 6 or 7, they'll be able to jump right in without having to wait around for others or pug the final spots. Let's face it, it's the best answer to the problem.

    I challenge anyone to give me an argument that explains why it's a bad idea to scale content to party size.

    Too many variables for game: difficulty for full party, for 7-man party, for 6-man party, etc

    Everyone is a financial expert these days it seems.

    I think it's less beneficial for the game if content can't be enjoyed by players or said player have to wait too long.

    Hamnlet Defense should have lower level versions with different rewards, instead of being restricted to 50's.

    I sat around waiting at hamlet for a couple of hours last night for several reasons. This would have made my day much more enjoyable so I fully support this. I also agree that a smaller party should be able to get the same rewards as the whole point is to scale the content to the same difficulty.
