Yes it is still severely lacking in character customization options, and especially ones that are long hairstyles, it has long been a request, as much as it has been with beards/goatee for male characters. You would have the exact same reception with these as what you would with this hairstyle if you suddenly elected to lock a new facial hair behind content that doesn't function long-form
I am not disputing whether the communities are great or not, that is not the point. It's irrelevant. It is still short-form content that will still eventually be reliant on life support from Discord to effectively arrange for runs. So for long term... Both the frequency of these runs will be a concern, in addition to long-term rewards. It's very easy not to see an issue when it perhaps takes 2-3 runs to get the reward when the content is prime, but when you're looking long-term to content that will ultimately need to be supported by Discord to function, with perhaps runs that may occur 3-4 times weekly, that may or may not fill, and with loot that may require you to do tens of runs easily, which yes, is a problem when content is not well supported for long-form. In future when they add new iterations of Chaotic, it will get more tedious still. If they released a Chaotic raid per each tier, then by the end of the expansion leaning into 8.0 you will then not only have all 3 of these that are on life support, but also BA/DRN/DRS, and whatever subsequent large scale raid they introduce with Triangle. That is a lot of content reliant on an external platform to function.
Their logic of placing these rewards in this content was less about trying to make good design or anything as much as it was about them being petrified about the feedback they received V&C and then deciding to just throw the kitchen sink at it to hope they don't receive the same feedback. How long did it take for the first thread complaining about the level of competence due to many casual players flowing it that can barely dodge AoEs or barely handle normal Alliance Raid difficulty, let alone early-flood savage?
What a bad response. The crafted gear is there just as much to facilitate catch-up, as to what it is for people doing progression raiding. Also, that you seem to think Gil is only really there for potions and gear shows a severe neglect for even the most basic of avenues in this game. If I wanted to I could comfortably spend 200M on mounts/minions and various other cosmetics.
