Keep it, but make Alliance Raid (Unreal) next. Let us run through Orbonne or Dun Scaith with our level 100 kit, and then boost the potencies/hp values so it scales and feels like a proper fight and not a thing where people skip hella mechanics and steamroll it. Make the mechanics come out faster than the msq version (no tutorial phase; we've all done these raids before anyway) so we get to see parts of the fight that we don't normally see and jump straight into the meat of the encounters. Maybe even randomize the mechanics so it feels... chaotic, if you will. Release multiple alliance raid unreals, but keep the old alliance raid unreals in the game and make it its own alliance-raid-unreal roulette. Rewards can include dyeable versions of the formerly undyeable outfits, as well as pity tokens (unique to each raid) so people who're unlucky can just run it ten times and trade it in for the piece they want or whatever. Even crystal tower could be fun in here because you'd have your whole kit and the mechanics would be retooled/reworked to be engaging and meaningful. Would it be hard work? Sure. Is it perfect? Nah. Rewards could probably be added to, idk. I'm not a content designer. But I think it'd be enjoyable for more than just 15% of the population or w/e, so I think it'd be worth doing.
No reason to nerf what already exists. Chaotic's already here. There're people who like it. Let them keep what they enjoy ffs. But the devs should've known that a lot of alliance raid enjoyers are casual players who enjoy the low stakes silliness of alliance raids but just wanted something with a little more oomph after the Endwalker alliance raids failed to engage most people (besides aglaia, which was quite fun on release but quickly fell off due to gear creep). I think that's where a lot of the "make harder 24mans" energy came from. Jeuno sorta scratched that itch, just a shame that the glams were hideous. Either way I think it was a mistake to brand chaotic as an alliance raid; all they did was excite people who tend to avoid harder stuff, and then those people got in and realized this was more of that hard stuff and were probably disappointed. And who can blame them? Ever since DT ended, it's just been an endless love letter to that masochistic 25% of the player base who love busting their balls in PF. Imagine if forays disappoint all these people who've been hungry for something that isn't more scripted raidslop. A grim thought, indeed. 2025 really needs to come out swinging with a cool foray and a dope ass deep dungeon and some beautiful relics and all those housing quality of life updates, otherwise the nonraider folks are gonna be left high and dry for like the 5th time in a row lmao
