give us back dragon sight, blood of the dragon, and spine shatter
give us back dragon sight, blood of the dragon, and spine shatter
No thank you, removing spine shatter was one of the best moves, and removing dragon sight too.
Spine shatter to me felt awkward to add into a rotation and just added more jumping animation lock during burst windows. Dragon sight was barely used on a partner. Seen too many dragons only use it on themselves and not realize it was able to be used on an ally
Wooow, Dragoon using jumps during rotation, what a crazy idea, not like it is something it SHOULD use as a job famous for that move and that type of gameplay. What's next, Red Mage using melee combo during its burst? Lmao.
And newbies not playing the job how it is supposed to be played? Yeah, that was exclusive only to Dragon Sight, and all those Doton Ninjas didn't exist, and let's not start talking about people who use their 2min CDs after thier whole party finished their burst 10 secs ago.
I love how in every dragoon thread there's people that don't even main the job coming out of the woodwork to say it's okay that it got butchered.
Glad i play Dragoon, but if you want go deeper
Spineshatter Dive was a Movementskill which was more restricted because it was Potency, im fine to bring it back if you remove the Potency so a Movementskill is actually used as Movementskill (And im the same opinion about it when it comes down to every other Dash in the Game, Dashes should not do Damage)
Dragoon Sight removing was long needed or atleast reworked a skill which requires a Macro as Controllerplayer in a Game which is build around Controller is just Janky, do it like it would do with Dancer with his Technical, give Dragonsight to a player right from the Start and every 2 min push the Button again to Activate the Dmg Buff and it would be fine, but no Skill should require a Macro and before no the "it doesnt need a macro" complains are coming, show me a video with a double weaved dragonsight with manual targeting someone.
Main Class - Viper. Yeah, for some reason I don't think that you clear a lot of high-end content as a Dragoon now, and even less back when it was an actually good job.
Dashes absolutely should do damage if it fits job identity and doesn't make job unplayable. Dragoon's Jumps are exactly that and it is really hilarious that, yet again, person complaining about them doesn't actually play Dragoon (and it also says a lot about intentions behind that 7.0 "rework", but oh well, for some rease SE caters to those who wouldn't main it regardless). I think it would be nice if Square added Spineshatter + some follow-up OGCD to make up for cutting 2 Nastronds, but let's be real, they'll listen to people that don't play the job yet again and cut remaining Jumps to make yet another slop without its own identity.
As for Dragon Sight - look no further than Astrologian's Cards which work pretty much the same way, they also have a lot weaves during start of burst window, they do not require some sort of Partner system and don't even need macro. And as a job that has waaay more manual targeting on controller, it still has those Cards (even if there isn't as much of them, as in previous expansions).
I'm kinda glad Dragon Sight is gone. It was annoying to use, and I enjoy the raw power DRG has now as a result of losing the buff. Indifferent towards Blood of The Dragon. Yeah, they should bring back Spine Shatter Dive.
We need the Blood of the Dragon blue aura at all levels and not just 60-69.
Should've been a thing in EW with 1 or 2 eyes while not in LotD.
As a long-time (literally since ARR) DRG main I miss the animation of Dragon Sight, but I do not one bit miss pressing my macro for it as a controller player and having it not activate, drifting my burst window. A rework would have been fine, but it's also fine not having it at all imo. I also do not mourn Spineshatter after how they changed it in Endwalker, though I do miss having the extra buttons to press during one-minute windows like Spineshatter used to be back in Shadowbringers and earlier.
