Totem Trade-in Restrictions

My understanding about trading in totems for mounts is that, for extremes, people have to wait until 2 major patches after the release of the extreme to trade totems for a mount. I don't really get why SE does that in the first place because it's not like making me wait half a year to trade in my 99 totems is going to keep me from unsubbing if I want to unsub.
But now that the chaotic has been released, the tokens are instantly tradeable for mounts. I know it's a different reward system but I don't get why that aspect would be different.
I'm thinking two conflicting things really because I would like to see the time restriction lifted for trading in totems for the extreme trial mounts but I also think there's a flaw in the reward system for Chaotic because the Dais mount is immediately tradeable for tokens and is tradeable on the market board. I think the structure of the reward system will make it so people who have cleared the fight will group together for reclears and then sell the mount to people who haven't cleared and there is not enough incentive for people who have cleared to help people who haven't cleared. Also, people who haven't cleared but want the mount can just buy it now and never participate in the content.

There isn't really a point to it.

It does make some people farm it more, like 500 times, but I don't know why they bother. 99 is surely enough times to get your players to do the content.

I think it's to encourage people to keep trying to farm for the mount even after getting 99 totems, which some people seem to do.

I do think they need to revise it, but sadly when the devs do something new, they don't really exercise the thinking past that piece of content, to then go "I wonder if other areas of content would benefit from this"

If you have your 99 totems you should be able to trade in immediately. There’s no good reason someone can get lucky on a roll and get them instantly, when someone who ground out their totems for the 50-100 clears needed, depending on the fight, should have to wait over HALF A YEAR for a reward they arguably earned more.

It's probably so people ahve tiem to farm them even casual players. Plus to me the luck aspect brings me back to farming. Will teh mount drop or will i get my 666th drop of a broken orchestra scroll. LET'S GAMBLE!!!!!

Thats the only thing i really hate about Final, if i take my time and farm 99 totems i want my mount NOW not 9 months later

I get the incentive to make people do it more, but 2 major patches feels too long. one would be enough.
