People have been clamouring for more long hairstyles and it being one of the few that has released in awhile is locked behind content they don't feel as though they can do, and are intimidated to even try

It's purchaseable, sure, but likely for millions of gil that your average player won't have access to

I don't think wanting a basic character customization item is an entitlement. As others said the reward doesn't fit the type of content. Do think hardcore raiders even care about the hairstyle? I doubt it, I bet most hardcore raiders who get the hairstyle will put it up on the MB to make an easy 50 to 100 mil of gil. I highly doubt you see a Mr Happy, a Xeno, or Arthars type of player using this hairstyle. Another issue is that even buying it on the MB isn't easy bc most players don't have 50+ mil of gil lying around. Most ppl who do are mostly crafters. Another issue about locking a hairstyle behind a savage level of content is forcing ppl who may not even want to do this content to do it and that leads to PFs being a complete nightmare bc you have ppl who never did hard content before jumping into pf parties hoping to be "carried" so they can get the hairstyle. The last thing I have an issue with is the number of rewards this 24-man savage has...the raid has 2 mounts, 730i gear, a minion, and the hairstyle. I don't know about anyone else but I think the mounts and gear are far enough for this type of content and the rewards hardcore raiders care about.

Overall no I don't think anyone is entitled. I think locking a hairstyle behind the savage or ultimate level of content is dumb and asking for trouble. Keep rewards for these types of content as it(glowy weapons, gear and mounts) and add hairstyles to more approachable content like the PVP battle pass, maps, ect.

    What does that even mean?

HUGE assumption. Pretty much everyone who plays the game cares about how their character looks. Just because you paint with broad strokes and assume everyone thinks like the 3 streamers you listed does not make it so.

There's lots of items in this game that I want but chose not to engage with the content for. I love the PVP glamours but I hate the content. You don't see tons of people complaining that it should be available for everyone, people just accept it as such. PVP is a perfect example because the Cloud hair exists.

    1) It means that hairstyles an character customization shouldn't be locked behind content that the minor of the player base interacts with. In the past this type of content never had hairstyles in them. They usually only have glam gear, glowly weapons, and mounts.

    2) Plz...I have never seen a hardcore raider that cares that deeply about what their character looks like. Im sure there are some and that's why I said most, not all hardcore raiders. Either way, they most likely wouldn't even be that upset if a hairstyle were more available to everyone.

    3) We not talking about some glamour items or mounts here. Hairstyles are character customization. Hair is the only thing you can change in this game since the choices in the character customize are VERY limited. Im fine with glamour items being locked behind content that ppl may not like to do. I also want things that are locked behind content I don't want to touch and guess what Im not complaining about that bc they are weapons and gear. Also most of the other content in this game has a somewhat long life to it but these new things SE has come up with like this 24-man savage and Crit dun don't...I bet you that in 6 months this fight be dead and rarely run, making the hairstyle even harder to get than it is now.

So your entire argument basically amounts to “I feel like casual players care more about their characters appearance than high end players” with literally zero evidence to support it then declaring that based on that fundamental glam items should be accessible to casuals (even though you can just buy the hairstyle)

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

No that's not my entire argument. Its one of the reasons. I listed others if you actually care to read them. I agreed with you about PCT on the PCT threads but I don't agree with you on this. Its the fact they added a hairstyle to a type of content that has been proven will die after the hardcore raider are done with it. We saw it with Crit duns and we see it happen again with this content. Also yes you can buy it but tell me how many casual players you know have 50 to 100 mil gil just sitting around? That price isn't going to go down either since farming the hairstyle isn't easy(46 clears I believe Mr happy said in his video today about this). As I said before it will get even harder to get in few months when ppl get bored of the fight and move on to the next shiny new fight. Like I said one another reply to you today, my ONLY issue is the hairstyle and that it. The fight already have 2 MOUNTS, a minion and 730i glam gear. If it also needed the hairstyle to get ppl to clear the fight then maybe just maybe the devs should used the time design this fight for something ease that the midcore players could also enjoy.

I'll start off by saying that it's neat they added it to the chaotic raid and that if people want it that bad they can grind for it, either by earning gil or doing the content.

However, it makes sense people would be upset. It seems like an odd choice to make after 8 years of creating a clear divide between what rewards you can expect from casual and hardcore content. It would be akin to putting the best gear in getting to rank 20 of island sanctuary (which I would also find hilarious, not gonna lie.) Obviously it's meant to draw more people to trying more difficult content, and hopefully it's succeeded in that.

Why do some people feel entitled to cosmetic items such as this? I genuinely don't get it. It's obviously there either: as a reward to players doing difficult content, or as a means to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone.
Even so, it's purchasable on the market board, so why is it such a problem?
I wouldn't call it entitlement. More frustration that there is so little casual content offering anything at all, and the next "event" I believe is a reskinned, uninspiring minion.

Being annoyed at the lack of content on the casual side is one thing (and a very valid complaint) but it doesn’t really have anything to do with OP’s point because OP is discussing the fact that some people who dont do high end content seem to want directive authority on what rewards are allowed to be high end content rewards

You can hate the idea that since 7.0 launched 4 savage floors, 1 extreme, 1 ultimate and 1 CAR have released compared to one dungeon and one alliance raid but it doesn’t mean locking desirable rewards behind a new and experimental content type isn’t a good decision

Fair. But I'd suggest it does mean it is guaranteed to be a massively unpopular decision, and whether that is right or wrong is sort of irrelevant when a large chunk of the player base is already spitting nails.

Like objectively I can think of no way of determining whether a hairstyle locked behind chaotic or (another effing pointless) framing kit locked behind rank 10 series PvP is "correct."
