Why do casual players seem entitled to cosmetic items added in game?

For most, it's not about getting things for free, it's more about giving the right rewards for the right content, which XIV has not been very good with lately. Things like haircut, orchestion rolls or TT cards are relatively appealing to everyone, so they should be rewards you get on the lowest denomitor. easy enough content, event if it takes a while to get (like with treasure maps, where the rng is bad).

As much as it would make no sense to put a BiS equipment behind a event quest, it makes very little sense to put an haircut behind what's basically a 24 man savage. Especially a contest haircut.

Should've seen some of the controversies that happened back in HW with the OG Diadem Emergency Mission when it had a small chance to drop i280 Coven weapons, which had randomized stats, the outcry of some people out of fear it could invalidate their hard earned weapon through Lux or Alexandrian Weapons, cuz all you had to do was kill a dinosaur and get lucky 'lul'.

Personally, I think it's fine but the shelf life of the content has to actually be there to justify essentially putting core character features/cosmetics behind it, and historically they have never nailed down the shelf life of harder, large scale content.

Yeah, there is always some loud idiots that throw a tantrum, like with the axolot mount. What annoys me with those is how the entirety of the casual population get associated with those, when 99% is fine with High lvl content having their own rewards.

But there is always, ALWAYS someone drowning in its own ego to say "filthy casuals entitled to recieve everything for free" as soon as there is a complain. Even when the complaint is done by 10 loud people, fairly justified or shared by a good chunk of the raider community, as it is here. I guess taking a step back would destroy their mental construction where casual players are assisted and they are the true gamers. (Maybe you'll notice what I did)

I include things like Eureka bozja and deep dungeons in the "easy enough" content. Extremes and Masked carnivale are things I wouldn't include but I know there are argument to put them there. At worst, extreme end being unsyncable.

I was under the impression the axolotl thing was a meme, and that there were far more people upset that axolotl just thematically didn't Anabaseios/Pandaemonium than there were people actually upset it had a cute mount tied to it lol.

It's twofold anyway.. Who are some people to dictate where rewards should be delegated... In the same vein, Who are some people to dictate who should or shouldn't be trying a 24-man piece of content. You can't lord over people and try to dictate what content they do, or in what process (unless otherwise dictated by the game), and then also complain when those whom you attempt to lord over actually present reasons why it is occurring, in addition to solutions. It's just asking for people to be apathetic to that plight in future.

Edit : Like, at some point people are just going to turn around with "Well you asked for it, you got exactly that", instead of "Here's where the issue stems from, and here's what could maybe be done about it in future"
