Why do casual players seem entitled to cosmetic items added in game?

For most, it's not about getting things for free, it's more about giving the right rewards for the right content, which XIV has not been very good with lately. Things like haircut, orchestion rolls or TT cards are relatively appealing to everyone, so they should be rewards you get on the lowest denomitor. easy enough content, even if it takes a while to get (like with treasure maps, where the rng is bad).

As much as it would make no sense to put a BiS equipment behind a event quest, it makes very little sense to put an haircut behind what's basically a 24 man savage. Especially a contest haircut.
