    Crashes with a DirectX Error 1100002

    Ever since 7.1, my gaming laptop has seen more animation delays, black screens taking a long time for boot up from the launcher and after it being fixed for a while eventually frequent DirectX 110000002 crashes. Ive checked and its due to a nvlddmkm error. My laptop is a Gigabyte P55 v6 with a Geforce GTX 1060. Ive already tried clean reinstalling my drivers with a DDU and reducing graphics through the program settings on the Nvidia experience. Ive tried turning off V-Sync and limiting FPS to 60 in-game. SSD memory has about 30 GB out of 108 GB along with the ample space in Local Disk (D). Ive seen posts using an DXVK and it seemed to work but I dont how to do it correctly. Would greatly appreciate any help or advice!

    Please attach full system information from FFXIV Launcher.

    nvlddmkm errors are very general, could be anything from overheating chip to hardware failure. Usually DXVK is not needed.
    Dont use Geforce Experience to alter ingame settings - its not up2date for Dawntrail.

    Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    We apologize for any inconvenience experienced when trying to play Final Fantasy XIV. Please try the following:
    - Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and sound drivers (if applicable). Upon further inspection, it appears that your GPU [NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060] was last updated on [SYSTEM_GRAPHICS_DRIVER_DATE 12/2/2024]. At this time a newer version should be available, should the issue persist please try a clean reinstall instead.

    Additionally, it appears that your system may have two GPUs, please make sure the game is defaulting to the correct one when launching the game.

    - Please try adjusting/lowering the resolution.
    - Please try running the game as an administrator.
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
    - Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive. (If Steam version, make sure both the game and Steam are installed on same drive)
    - Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
    - Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
    - Reinstall game.
