I mentioned this on a different thread. Releasing this today might also generate more interest because there are plenty of people who have time off for the holiday, so they have more time to play. Time will tell how this experiment works out. This is a global game that takes money from places other than Japan, yet every time a decision like this has to be made, Japanese priorities come first. I'm sick of Square trying to have all the benefits of a global game (soooooooo much additional revenue) without addressing the challenges of running a global game. We were sitting here dealing with this a couple of years ago too, when they arbitrarily decided to take the game down for maintenance on Halloween, ruining people's in-game event plans on NA, and the excuse players dreamt up for square was "it's okay because japan doesn't care about halloween like we do," like bruh. They'll sure as hell take our money though, right.
The rest of your post I actually agree a lot with. I even edited my post to include my thoughts on it because it's been bubbling up in the back of my head for a while now.
You're comparing savage to casual alliance raid ? Git gud dude.

Chaotic should been locked behind clearing the extreme fights like how ultimate requires clearing savage first.
Noticed many that were struggling in phase 1 were people who's highest content was normal alliance raids and weren't very good at that either.

Let's keep catering to raiders and adding more raids. We need more Savages, Unreals, Ultimates, Criterions and Chaotics. Good luck everyone else!
That is essentially what DT feels like so far, not to mention the lackluster story.

I think the exploration zone starting in x.1 at the latest would probably help. If you're a casual player who enjoys battle content, I have no idea what you're supposed to do in XIV. Roulettes?
100% agreed.
One (somewhat) niche answer would be PvP, but the new hit detection algorithm is so unpopular it's driving people out of that too.
We can go round in circles on the semantics of casual/midcore/hardcore, thereby completely missing the crucial point.
There is a large population of players who like battle content, but who have zero interest in coordinating via Discord and progging. They have been shafted in DT.
That's it.
Society quests take 3 minutes?
FATEs only last so long.
Levelling Trust AI's only lasts so long too (and usually used for levelling off jobs along with MSQ roulette)
But yes, they need to stop being so set in stone with their release pattern and put the exploration zone to x.1, not even x.15. But heck, the fact that a single quest (Manderville and probably the post role quests quest) take so many months really says things. But I guess they almost consider it tradition at this point and would be "scared" to change it.
Oh well, can let the Chaotic stay for those who like harder content. I have no qualms with harder content existing as long as there's something for everybody. Just feels like CBU3 can't even chew bubblegum and walk anymore.

Lets stop normalizing "grind = good." Grind doesn't make content good. Grind exists purely so you play more. At least half the people BEGGING for grind right now will complain when the grind returns. (Assuming they've already done the grinds the game has to offer?)

Grind is fine as long as the content is enjoyable and has replay value.
i.e. Eureka and Bozja are fun. Collecting 20k accursed hoard is not fun.
