    Tbh my eyesight's pretty shit, so probably wouldn't be able to see it anyway. But if not, it feels like there's very little counter-play to this.
    It's to do with the snapshot changes, due to how animations work on BRD and also MCH, SAM has a very easy time to just wait for you to make the first move. Any attack with a generally long wind-up animation like WAR's Primal Rend can also be a death sentence for someone since you're locked into committing the attack on the target they can just pop the buff before your animation finishes and guarantee a kill on you.

    Generally speaking you'd have to be mindful of the SAM's LB timer, if you've seen the SAM use their LB quite recently then you can confidently fight them even with their buff up. Otherwise, you have to pretty much play reserved and avoid any damage interactions with them until you have seen them use their Chiten (1shot buff) and it has fallen off. If you have backup, you could try tossing in your silence skill since it does no damage and would be applying pressure on the SAM to either get away or die - the only other factor would be if you have players that can apply protective shields to you, which would let you poke and absorb the SAM lb without dying provided you're at full HP with a shield on top, no matter how big or small it is.

    tl;dr - BRD/MCH is paper, SAM is scissors and counters your existence.

    If you're a bard fighting a samurai in melee range, you're bait. Don't attack them immediately, let your allies attack them. They'll switch targets and probably queue up their counter. Bind them, silence them and create distance, block line of sight. Once their counter has fallen off and is on cooldown, dps them down.

    Depends if your attack is very fast to resolve it can be relatively safe but you still run the risk to just press the button when the samurai presses theirs much like it used to be the case before anyway.
    If your attack is long winded, odds are that they can actually react to it and counter with it yes.
    It is rarely a good idea to attack samurais without having kept track of their use of the debuff, or at least their LB gauge in the case of CC. It hasn't changed in principle after the snapshot changes, it has just made it a lot more risky.
    And since you're playing BRD, you have literally zero shields to bait Zantetskukens into a failtsuken.

    Yea I just got back to the game and the inconsistent delay and sluggish feel of my suppose to be instant moves feels bad to play. And frankly ruining pvp for me. I use to love CC but now it feels weird and highly unfun.

    Animation snapshot changes are good imo, helped reduced how 1 GCD burst heavy the game was at high levels of play.

    Do you reckon they will add some more adjustments to animations in patch 7.2 or not?
    I think I vaguely recall something about new actions being added - or is that just explicitly referring to the new role based pvp actions ?

    I think all we know for sure is the new role actions, which looked underwhelming to me. That said, they did make some unannounced tweaks last time.

    Riddle of Earth Saying "instant" but taking 2 days and half to heal me is RIDCULUS!!!!! This is not fun to me anymore. I use to love pvp after CC was introduced and the changes that came with it. Now I'm just paining through it since I am close to getting all the Series rewards but if this continues I think ima go back to ignoring pvp in this game like b4.

    This is a blessing in disguise for the skill in a way. The way a lot of high ranked players use it usually, they take the damage during ROE as usual, manage it not to die, then pop RoE near the end, immediately Guard not to die, and gap close into an enemy or a group, which can be combined with a fireball for example, which is a very effective way to use it as a damage bomb (a bit like snake scales on VPR). Even if you don't go for the bomb, you can reliably full heal and then get away with purify.
    The con of course is that if you need it NOW and cannot guard or tempo, then you may die before the heal yes.
