(Titlle is obviously a silly remark. Pictomancers are getting well paid for their carries in current content, and soon in the chaotic raid content)

Today as I was doing Ultimate on PF (practices) It broke my heart several of times when casters tried joining. Every day now for a week I pay VERY close attention to OTHER caster recruitments (recruitments made by blackmages especially) Their PT unfilled every day hours upon hours I felt so horrible I try to cheer them on in tells. This is PURELY because nobody want to join their PT as they are NOT playing pictomancers. No longer do I see redmages in sight, Summoners are also forced to change their jobs. When casters joined and asked "Can I have D4?" (For EU/NA players this means M2 which is JP's fixed caster position) every time they are told to leave "That seat is for pictomancers only. Please leave." And I got mad at one point "Can you not rely so much on Pictomancers!?" But they wouldn't have it. "It's my PF and I want to make progress and not get stuck on enrage" it's utterly selfish and this UNBALANCED JOB ISSUE is becoming a COMMUNITY issue. I want to see back my redmages, summoners and Blackmages, I am sick of seeing them sit in recruitments with NO people participating for playing a job that isn't their main. Can I also mention that recently WARRIORS are taken off of recruitments and some starting to recruit "PLD/GNB" and the other tank as only "DRK" for the extra DPS??

Please give Warrior some of Picto's power and put Picto in their SUPPOSED place in their job role. They may be strong still, but this is OVER the top!

Is it really such a surprise that certain groups would want meta comps?
seems like a crutch if anything

idk what else to say, I haven't seen much of the behavior mentioned in PF myself unless it's just a FRU thing since I don't think I can see groups for that

It's not a surprise but the balance of PCT vs BLM is unforgivable. PCT does more damage, has more utility, and is easier to play. I understand SE wants people to play the new classes, but this borders on negligent.

Hot take, BLM now is in a worse place than friggin Machinist. The job some people considered trolling to take on Savage progression in DT.

I'd rather have my 'overpowered' PCT with their unique downtime options than to sterilize them like the rest of the roster, thanks. WAR's BW were, and still inconceivably powerful for a tool of its caliber, yet many turns silent because they love their overpowered unga bunga buttons(????). I hope more and more people silently enjoy their overpowered splatoon mage too and maybe enforce more and more class lockout, so SE will finally spend a dime to foresee their jobs for once.

Meta slaves are one of the worst (not directed to OP).

That's nice but some of us want to not feel handicapped because we don't want to play the art major.

The only fight in the same where you are the legit potentially making it harder on yourself to not take is FRU and that’s because of the motif design

If your caster or melee are blaming a lack of PCT for savage or extreme damage then there is many other things you should be looking at first

Oh 100%, but let's be real, that's not how most raids work. PCT is--at the end of the day--topping numbers, and those numbers are what people are going to look at. Someone could be a 99th percentile black mage, and most people will still take the PCT for party even if they gray parse. I know it. You know it. This happened to WAR and PLD last expansion during P8S. And that was over tank DPS.

Also as a class who has to put in more effort for my damage and has no utility, I expect my damage to be better than a class that has offensive utility and is easier to play--at least in the same role as me. Sorry-not-sorry.

There is no such thing as offensive utility in this game, raid buffs aren’t utility, you can argue tempra grassa is utility and I’d agree but basing the entire balancing design off the existence of tempra grassa is a bit much don’t you think

And balancing based on “PF meta vibes” is literally the worst thing I can possibly imagine

Not sure if the chaotic raid'll have much downtime mechanics, which is a big part of what makes PCT so favored in Ultimates.

I usually see a few PFs on Aether requiring PCT in a slot for FRU (or just have the party lead as PCT). I won't be surprised if some players feel pressured to go with PCT anyways though. I've honestly been hesitant to give it a try since my only geared jobs are RDM and MCH right now.

Sorry BLMs, SMNs, and RDMs. Pictomancers will feel bad if they aren't the supreme meta pick for all end-game content, so we cannot nerf them at this time. Please look forward to taking a back seat for the rest of the expansion.

It's not a community issue, it's a balance issue, devs' fault. Many players will just always default to the meta IF said meta is far ahead of the rest.

It is what it is, especially in content like ult. Same for pvp or any game really.

Honestly having a PF say last spot is PCT only kind of shows they rely on an overstrong job then try to clear it with skill (this is obviously a joke and not ot be taken serious. I am a tank player for end game content)
