Thread: Direct x Crash when starting other games

If I ever have FF14 playing, and I start another game (Civilization 4 for example), it seems to crash FF14, giving me an error about Directx.
Only game this never happens with is SC2.
Does anyone know a fix to this, is i ever want to keep FF14 logged on, and still play another game for 10 minutes?

Don't use fullscreen mode on the other games.

This is your solution. I run TF2 CS:GO or touhou while running FF14 with no problem when they're all in window mode

PLAYING ANOTHER GAME WHILE I PLAY A GAME MAKES MY GAME STOP WORKING! D;

That being said, hopefully the 2.0 client is better optimized so there aren't any DirectX errors.

Use dual video cards, or use a video card that can act like a dual video card.

run the game in DirectX 9 mode, its just not a FF14 thing Windows is very temperamental when it comes to trying to juggle two Graphic API's.

You mean run FF14 in Dx9? How?
Looked in config, but didn't see anything

FFXIV is a native DX9 program, you'll want to run your other games in DX9 mode

Why are all you people not playing FFXIV when it's running?

if i had to guess its so there not twiddling there thumbs or watching porn while they wait for a shout out in uldah.
