Hildibrand content cut to ONE quest

When I saw the title of this thread, I assumed it was just another pile-on about lack of content.

Then I did the new Hildi quest. I like the direction. It fits DT thematically. But when I realized I'd done it all in a few minutes I said aloud: "Is that IT!?!?"

but it does feel as if they are hell bent to give us as little content as possible xD

It's obvious that Square Enix doesn't care about FF14 even though it's their cash cow. They just love making flops (Flopspoken, Final Flop 16, Stillbirth, etc) instead of reinvesting their revenue into FF14 and making content for the game. If I didn't play with some real life friends I would've unsubscribed by now.

Haha guys they are just reducing dungeons per patch by 1 right it's no big deal... Haha now they are doing only 1 dungeon per patch? It's just because of covid though right... Surely endwalker is just them getting their footing back and we will be back to multiple dungeons per patch with dawntrail!!

That yeah... No we dont want to choose, we want all of it! It cant be asked too much to get some more ppl working on the game - or what i suspect, not taking every old talent away to try and save their flops!

I want my two dungeons back, i want more side stuff back - I want trailers of 5+ min back that are filled with new features!

They were very open about the fact that most of the senior devs were pulled off XIV to focus on XVI, which sold poorly according to Square. Now CS3 is working on another unannounced game, so we'll see if they can go 2 for 2.

That is how they have been getting us though. They just shave things off little by little until there is practically nothing left. And sometimes there just is nothing left and things are forgotten.

And while I agree that Hildi is very meh, he has been since they reintroduced him in 2.0, 1.0 Hildi was peak, it is a sign of a much bigger problem this game has been suffering for years now and should be called out.

I enjoy the Hildibrand questlines, they've always been enjoyable for me. I fully admit I was very wary when I saw the quest banner clearly showing it was Solution 9 themed, just because I don't enjoy the place, personally.

When I did the quest I quickly loved it again in that very Hildi type of humor, and I was looking forward to seeing where it was going.

It was pretty fun cutscenes, but felt really short indeed, and no we wait again. Please look forward to it.

Hildibrand quests were great before Endwalker. They've been rehashing entire scenes and jokes since, with only a few moments of original and actually funny gags. Or new gags that overstay their welcome too much, too often. Can't wait for the 100th slow-mo gag! Haha it's funny because Godbert is ultra powerful, right?

I loved the ARR and Stormblood questlines. For Endwalker it really looked like a jumped-the-shark movie sequel like experience. Haven't had the time to do the DT quest yet but I expect it to be on par with Endwalker.

Edit: Just read that they were going to be done with Hildibrand after Stormblood but fans convinced them to continue... CS3 only listens to fan outcry for the stupidest things it seems. No wonder new Hildibrand feels like a bad movie sequel.

Agreed. Personally, the Hildi quests are something I do for the sake of it rather than anything else.

I don't want to sound miserable, but by the same token I don't really see why I'm supposed to find anything amusing about seeing the very repetitive scenarios of Godbert parade around in his underpants/Hildi get blown up by bombcat/stupid stalker Lala (which I actually find pretty offensive in all honesty) for the 999th time.
