Game freezes constantly at 720p on ASUS RoG Ally Z1 Extreme

As the title says, there is an odd bug that causes the game to freeze when running on fullscreen mode at 720p (1280x720). I don't mean lag spikes, this is a constant thing that causes the game to pause every second no matter what I'm doing. It only happens at lower resolutions it seems. I have an ASUS RoG Ally Z1 Extreme that is updated with the latest Windows 11 2H24 update, all drivers updated to the latest, latest BIOS and firmware too. My other games and higher resolutions work fine. I currently play the game at 900p (1600x900) when docked to a 55 inch 4k TV and the game runs ok at 900p but I wanted to play at 720p so that I can play the game on max graphics settings and still have decent FPS above 40. This freezing that happens on at 720p doesn't happen at all when running the game at 900p, 1080p, 1440p and even 4K when I was testing different resolutions to see if the bug affected other resolutions and it doesn't.



This bug seems to affect fullscreen mode since when I run the game on windowed mode, it runs fine when it's upscaled through an upscaling and frame generation utility on Steam called Lossless Scaling. The game used to run fine at 720p before DT but ever since DT came out, that bug has been around since. This bug happens on fullscreen mode whether my Ally is docked to my TV or when I'm playing it in handheld mode. When running in windowed mode through Losseless Scaling, it plays fine without that bug.



I would really like to play the game at 720p to have higher fps because while Lossless Scaling works pretty decently overall, it also causes lots of flickering and such since it's still a relatively new upscaling program. So this has to be the game itself that is causing this freezing every second no matter what I'm doing.

What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
At what point does the issue occur?
How often does the issue occur?

Could you provide the exact error message received, if any?
Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
When the issue happens, is the PC over heating at all?
Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the issue?

If the issue does not occur in borderless windowed mode, are you able to continue with that setting instead?

All steps taken to resolve the issue:

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.
