Ehhh... I'd call it uncommon, not quite rare. I've had my search comment say something to that effect for years, but will still occasionally get invites from people that don't bother looking because they're just spamming invites to everyone in player search that doesn't already belong somewhere.

Dunno where you have been playing but I have been't FCless for the past 5 years and never got random invites.

If I can a random invite from someone no word and that I just hit the button to ignore, I never seen the need to random invite someone without asking them
