I'm sorry about your negative experience but 30 min queue lock is more than enough. It's not even that hard to backfill a missing role.

What I find the funniest thing here is that I see a lot of familiar names from ppl who are always telling ppl that if they are not having fun not to play, who are now getting the fits when ppl decide not to participate in a dungeon or duty they do not want to participate in. And are calling for harsh punishments for those who excercise the right they were just telling them to exercise.
Make up your mind. Should we play even when we are not having fun or should we not play when we are not having fun?
We don't have control over roulettes, so unless SE wants to impliment a system that allows us to lock certain dungeons out of roulettes or implements a system where I won't get the same dungeon every day for 2 full months (true story, I hate you Good King Moggle Mog the XIIth and you too thousand yawns of total crap), than that is on SE not updating a poorly implemented system. And if everyeone just quit playing roulettes then these same ppl would be here complaining they can't get a roulette to pop in a decent amount of time like what happens on Dynamis.
There are two separate systems.I think they have a 3 strikes rule or something per day? I don't recall but isn't there a counter when the lockout gets worse if you keep leaving? I think that is good enough. I've rarely had to wait more than a minute or two when someone disconnects for a replacement.
(1) If you fail to accept a duty when Duty Finder pops for whatever reason (you let the 45sec timer count down, you intentionally withdraw, etc.), you incur a strike. After the first strike, you can immediately requeue. I personally don't know what happens after the second, third, etc. strike.
(2) If you are the first to leave an instance of your own free will -- that is, you accepted the Duty Finder pop, saw the dungeon/trial/raid to be run, and then choose to leave without asking for a "vote abandon" -- you cannot queue via Duty Finder for 30min.

After 3 strikes you get a 30 minute lockout, after that any queue you deny or miss nets you another 30 minute lockout for the next 24 hours. If someone in your party denies a queue you all get a strike, or a lockout if they're at or beyond 3 strikes. There are two separate systems.

Also worth noting that even in a full premade roulette party, if someone leaves they will get the 30 minute leaver penalty.
Are you innumerate or did you just not think this through? 12th offence locking you out of roulettes for 1024 hours (42 and a bit days, or over 1 months sub). On what planet is this going to give an improvement in paying player experience or retention?
What this really would incentivise is people sitting afk for 5 minutes, wasting everyone’s time until they’re kicked at no penalty to themselves. And the minute that adds to your punishment tally is the minute premade bully parties become rampant because the fallout would be far too funny to resist.

In my thousands of hours of playing I left a total of 3-4 times and it was due to other players simply being uncooperative/unresponsive or I simply couldn't carry them on the tank I was playing (feels ShB DRK man).
I feel the frustration cause I remember when I was doing ShB MSQ for Titania I waited 40mins as dps and when it popped we wiped once and all the 'mentors' left after and everyone soon followed...leaving me all alone in the party waiting for it to refill (it took like 15mins?).... Was a horrible experience since I just wanted to progress the story and it was late already. Funny enough, it went smoothly with the new batch of people...
I would've suggested an additive penalty (with a limit?) like the 3 strike queue penalty but people raise a good point that it might cause people to wait to be kicked (tho I reckon that'd be reportable behavior as well no?)
But locking people out for 24hrs? Seems abit much...I guess 30min is a sweet spot right now. Sucks when it happens but I guess it is what it is.
Ok so... in absolute terms I agree. I don't really like it either when the guy leaves immediately.
BUT, given the current state of the game, I think it's a bad idea. The few times I've left have included: a totally unforeseen event IRL; a strange combination of events that caused me to stumble across the same instance five times in a row; and the usual CT pop. There are certainly a few toxic people who leave for the wrong reasons, but I honestly think that most players do it without being particularly toxic, just because ‘shit, it didn't go as planned’. It would be nice not to give them too big a penalty.
Genuine question. What’s the point of “punishing” someone who doesn’t want to do crystal tower again
No matter how much they incentivise the higher raids (which they could still do ALOT more to properly incentivise) CT will always be favoured simply because you only need 1 person out of 24 below 60 or without any other raid unlocked and it forces CT by default
Heavily punishing people who choose to leave CT (or any higher raid if you hate them) just encourages people to not run the roulette at all. I mean right now since juneo pops semi easily and is fun I don’t even queue for the alliance roulette, when I would do it in my roulette rotation I just queue for juneo directly instead. If there was a harsher punishment than 30 minutes I’d literally never queue for the alliance roulette again because it would be faster to fate and dungeon spam if I was levelling and if I just wanted to play an alliance raid for fun it would probably end up being faster queueing for monastery directly.
I’m already losing the benefit of the roulette for leaving, precisely what benefit is gained from punishing me harder
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
I think you just stumbled across the problem.
