call me stupid. but most skirmish parties are full by the time they get to limsa so if you're looking for one ul'dah would be abetter place to look i think
Yep and everyone made it perfectly clear why your assumption was unfair, and yet you bring it up again.
Whatevs, Skirmish is fun, I love boss rush in games. And guaranteed loot is nice and encouraging for players. Even if you get something you don't necessarily want you can trade/sell it.
My assumption was not unfair, to me. But I agree, Kap. I said it was fun. What I question is the "fuss free" battle content. That is all. And as I said before, fuss free to me, means something like Campaign, talk to NPC, wait for battle, join, done.Yep and everyone made it perfectly clear why your assumption was unfair, and yet you bring it up again.

I'm glad people are finding this fun, and I do see regular shouts for it in Ul'dah, so I think its popularity is increasing. For those who want an easier way to party up for skirmish, they can try the Party menu (I regularly do see parties forming through the party menu, so it's easy enough to join and show up).
On the down side, I found it rather lacked challenge (point, click, nuke, next). But I believe that was the intent. It would be interesting if they made another set of Skirmishes that worked the same way but the battles were more challenging.
I can't speak for Golem, but the tree is pretty easy once you have a party that has a basic strategy planned. As for the weapons themselves, I have to disagree. I see a ton of potential in them since they can be melded, so I wouldn't mind running them. Get a good double or decent triple and they'd start to be an improvement for some of the classes. The Treant and Golem are rather annoying, but otherwise it was a pretty fun experience. Being that I have primal weapons for all my classes, I doubt it's something I'm going to revisit often, but for those needing to gear up, it gives good enough rewards and experience for the mobs' dungeon counterparts.
For basic weapons they actually are pretty good. It's nice that SE is finally making an effort to acknowledge that there are players in their game who haven't capped every class and are 21/21 on primal drops.
I really thought it was a lot of fun. It was well thought out, balanced for different types of players, and while it isn't fuss free (oh no I stated an opinion I must be a troll) it is still fairly easy to get into by comparison of some of the other things we currently have.
Good job, FFXIV team.
Skirmish isn't anything new.. same old bosses. Wish they added new stuff. They made AV & CC less of a dungeon. Would of been nice if they just made HNMs on the field.
I quite like it because it gives "newer/returning" players a start to understand those bosses and old NM's. I enjoy it and would like to see more like this. Even if it's just to "educate" newer players to those bosses etc.
Exactly, it's a really good event for players who have just hit 50 on a job and want to learn how to play it in an end-gamish setting but without the stress. The difficulty is just right and one run doesn't take too long.
