Reminder that Dawntrails MSQ will drag the game down, if it's not getting a rewrite.

This is just a reminder for the developers, that the horrible writing of Dawntrail's MSQ will forever ruin the reputation of FF14 as a "great Story-MMO".

Until that happens, I cannot in good faith recommend this to anyone.
And no "up until Endwalker it's great!" will raise more questions than it will convince new players to try the game out, regardless of the trial.

I don't understand what the suits are thinking, but if they don't fix DT's writing, it will fester and drag down their only profitable IP right now.

(I will not debate anyone on the story so dont waste your time)

I could've sworn we were already in that position as a community, where most players tell new sprouts to "hang on and power through ARR story because it gets good in 2.4 when it builds up Heavensward" and then "oh don't mind Stormblood MSQ, it gets really good in the post-expac near the buildup for Shadowbringers" (I am also guilty of saying the first one ).
We can survive this.

the writing certainly has to get better again. but not all expsnsions can be good. thats a reality we have to accept. the fact the msq has to be done to progress even in future expansion makes a bad expansion a little bit worse but even then its not that bad... as long as they improve their writing.

Why, exactly, do we have to 'accept bad expansions'?
After 10 years, we should expect a certain degree of quality from the product we purchase and pay a monthly fee for.

I don't mean this as an insult but we should have higher standards and not tolerate this garbage.

I'll keep subbed until 7.3 or 7.4 there we should see the changes of all the feedback.

The game can live without updates or future content because "Moon Hoppers" and the legions of modders will keep modifying and syncing people mods for many many years.
People that actually cares about what FFXIV its(Lore/Story/Content/etc) shouldn't be more than 10-20% the rest are our famous Mare population.

No, it really IS that bad. I am a lore nerd nd also a massive msq enjoyer and the msq from .0 and .1 has been so legitimately terrible I'm going to skip the next one in its entirety. I have never been more disappointed and annoyed with an msq as much as 7.1. It was supposed to be better, but it only got worse and I won't waste another 3 hours of my time

Gona be real with you that argument can be applied to grievances with nothing that isn't some major irl like cancer. And it's also that argument that's bleeding the game subscribers. People don't want to be a part of a community that eats its own so they just leave. This hurts you more. And why would s.e fix the game when they can just put in maint mode and make another lazy product like the sequel to ff7r (u know it's gona happen )
