oh ya no doubt if he returns it will have to be a badass storyline. But Gauis looks more like Ultima Weapon i mean even his helmet had the horns like ultima does. And Darnus is stronger than Gauis so it make more sense that Darnus be omega since Ultima<Omega. (Only in 11 is Ultima for some reason stronger than Omega. Every otherr FF its vise versa.)

Aye that looks like the Ultima Weapon from FFVIII, but I have no doubt he'll be back in some form as a ghost or w/e because there is a (hard) fight coming out.

The White Raven is the VIIth Legatus. His grand plan was activating the second moon and then dropping it on our heads.

Does that sound familiar? Perhaps echoing the events from the VIIth Final Fantasty.

I expect The White Raven to be gone for the time being and a new IIIrd Legatus to take his place which will coincide with the Crystal Tower.

Perhaps if our White Raven does come back it'll be as a direct result of a mad scientist infusing his body with foreign cells. Could even turn into Omega weapon after all!

I think he will be in 2.0 because he is listed as one of the key enemies on the new promotional website:

If he was gonna disappear then I think it would be rather useless to still mention him to the new players who'll never get to know him because in the section of threats that still danger Eorzea Dalamud is not mentioned either (there are a few backlinkings of course but it is not explicitely listed amongst the threats like Van Darnus or the other guy whose name I forgot).
He probably doesn't die in the Dalamud fight and in the final moment also manages to escape him (maybe skips time too or can flee somehow else with the help of other Garleans). I'm pretty positive SE has given him some other evil plans to bother us in 2.0.

Gaius is way cooler than Darnus. :B Plus we killed him... I saw him vaporize into red dust. Would be a cop-out to have him just magically survive that, unless he comes back as a dalamudarnus monster, at which point, it wouldn't REALLY be Darnus.

Nope Gaius is a joke compared to Darnus! An NPC tells you that Gauis was a ruler of a city like Ala Mhigo that was taken over by the Empire, and the person who lead the attack on his city was clade in White armor he said. this was before Darnus was added. Besides some one who can drag a Meteor to our world by Himself ( without the black materia even!) is far more cooler. Gauis killed all the people in the meeting you have on the main story quest ok. that was about 15-20 people. Darnus kill......... half of Eoreza. And yes to the person that mention he was the 7Th i noticed that and loled a bit, guy ina Huge military role who goes batshit crazy, summons meteor, who gets vaporized when killed. And sometime looks like he sweat the main character the way they talk to us. And has a weapon that your screaming at the screen of you tv like you character can actually hear you to grab their god damn weapons when they are dead. except the difference between Darnus and Sephiroth is, Darnus succeed.
