The mugs are cute I guess.

The event is always trashSo apparently we're only getting a barding, some housing items and an orchestrion roll. These feel so low effort.

I think the barding is cute, and I'm curious what the song will end up being
The housing decorations will be nice for people that want to decorate their homes or apartments / fc rooms for the holidays
I really don't know what SE could do to make people happy, because it seems like no matter what people will always complain lol
I've seen GW2 mentioned and I like their events, but it's the same thing every year whereas here it's a continuous storyline with recurring characters
It'd be cool of SE to add more to do, that I agree with. It'd be fun to have snowball fights or other things to get in the mood. These could be in the form of fates either in the cities or in some of the starter zones

I didn't notice the link when I first read this and thought it was satire."Players will be able to obtain the Snowstreamer mount, along with 50 aetheryte tickets, by purchasing or gifting three Twitch subscriptions while watching eligible FFXIV channels during the Starlight Celebration campaign period."

I don’t understand SE giving housing items as event rewards when so many players do not even have housing and apartment storage space is so limited. Wouldn’t be so bad if we had an armoire for housing items.

Anyone remember when events used to have real stories that were engaging? They were like that back in ARR, HW, and SB.
I miss them.
Annual event rewards were low effort after the second or third year. Why are people only complaining now?

People did complain before, but there were other positive aspects of the game to outweigh the events being bad. Now the quality of everything else but the encounter design(which people still debate about) has also dropped and the patches are too far apart for what they offer.

Curious how you're spending $45 on Twitch subs, when they're $5 each.
Except people complain every year, at every seasonal event. People probably complained during the 2015 Starlight Celebration too, when it just had reindeer antlers/gloves/boots, and a beard + reused christmas hat model.
Similarly, 2013 Starlight Celebration had a 3-piece snowman outfit, and a basic looking barding (the other sets were introduced in 2010/2011).
Amount of effort spent on seasonal events has always been very similar, if already low to begin with.

If they put titles as event quest rewards, they're lost forever afterwards because you can't buy them like other rewards, you have to do the quest. I would rather that titles go where they'll be available later. What really irks me somehow (might just be a me-problem though) is that we barely get any new titles for those kinds of events anymore. Besides for crossover stuff, that is.
I dunno, titles like Half-boiled Hero/Heroine or how it's called in german "Eierlegende" ('Egg-legend'...it's glorious) were kinda funny and special. I miss them

https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...b243e892181af9I've got no opinion on the price as I don't know if that's accurate, but if they put the recoloured snowman in the event then you know people would be bitterly complaining at the devs' audacity to make this year's reward a recoloured version of a previous year's reward – and if they made a unique Starlight mount and put it in a Twitch promo instead of in-game, people would fume about that even more.
A cheap recolour of an existing mount is a better thing to see put in the external promo, really. If you don't like them doing cross-promos then you can easily ignore it because you're not missing out on much.
