First time on Forums, Can i buy an FC house for Gil *only* from another player?

I have an FC and collectively we have pooled together about 300-400m gil just to bid on houses as a group. Lets say someone didn't want their FC anymore, could we offer to buy their FC for in game gil that we've pooled for bidding on stuff?

I know theres the 30 day timer before master can be handed over, but I wanna make sure that this isn't something that would break TOS and we might lose our gil or the house after we purchased it. Im not asking for opinions on circumventing lottery and all that, I just wanna know if we're allowed to do that, we've been trying for months and months to get a large as a group and its been really hard.

There's no official way to buy FC ownership or land rights off of another player. One person has to give up their asset, then they hope and pray that the other party is moral and doesn't vanish with it.

It wouldn't be against the TOS. Both parties would have agreed to the initial trade knowing the risks.

Yes you can buy a Free Company from someone. If you can find someone who is willing to give it up, discuss the price and then make an agreement in the game stating the terms, price, if the FC has a house and location, and after 30 days of you joining, they can transfer leadership over to you. Contrary to what you read in the Housing forums, it's not against the ToS to buy a free company that has a house.

Another thing to note: if you go this route, make sure you discuss the terms of the purchase agreement using in-game chat before handing over any Gil. Make a note of the time and date of the conversation, the character you spoke to, etc. Don't settle for just chatting about it in Discord somewhere.

If there's a written record of the deal you've made in the game's chat logs, Square Enix have stated they'll intervene on your behalf if the seller decides to take the money and run.
