This game's open-ended ToS combined with its murky way of dishing out bans (they won't tell you what you did or said wrong to preserve the accuser, but just trust them, you were naughty!) has led to many people barely even leaving their current social groups to meet others. I have had an easier time making friends while playing a maplestory private server than I had in this game from just doing roulettes or whatever. No one speaks. Roulettes are just gogogo with people saying "hi" and "gg" at best. FCs are mostly fronts for a couple of people to boost their submarines. CWLSes have such a low cap that most have been full for years. For all its talk about "great community," it's actually pretty hard to just go out there and make friends in this game. Not saying you can't do it or anything, just that people are way more guarded in this game than in other mmos. The instancing stuff doesn't really help; it's not like you can meet people out in the open world or whatever. Tons of folks just log in with their set groups, queue up together, and then vanish. I think the moment you play anything else, you feel it right away: if you're starting this game alone, it can be quite difficult to meet new people compared to other games where there's an overworld that people use, or a ToS that doesn't scare people into speaking in voip/tells exclusively. In that regard, I don't think "just make friends" is a good solution for what OP wants. Granted, it is the only realistic solution for OP, but man this game blows for trying to meet new people because folks are clammed up and for good reason. I've seen firsthand what 1 snitch can do to a community.
Honestly, with the direction this game's going in terms of its jobs, I don't even think OP is asking for too much. Maybe a few years ago I would've agreed with Crow on this. Like, on its surface the idea of NPCs standing in for people just seems awful in a multiplayer game. But now? Nobody wants to heal, and healers are barely necessary for the dungeon content OP wants partial-trusts for, so why make people wait 30 minutes for one? To hell with it. The devs ruined the healing role more and more with each patch until nobody wanted to do it, the least they can do is let people play the fun jobs without needing 1 person to capitulate and play a job that feels like shit.
