    Request for partial trust

Would love the ability to play with just a single friend, spouse, or child. Dont always want to play with strangers, but do sometimes want to dungeon in peace with 1 or 2 other people that want to take it slowly, etc etc. One can imagine the scenarios.. but it particularly stands out when you consider it through the lens of the first time story experience with just your family or close friend without any outside factors.

Just two yeah, so if youre a pair of dps or one wants to try tanking/healing and doesnt wanna go with strangers, that would be amazing.

Or like my wife and me are in one room, it sucks we cant go together.

If necessary they could half the exp for such runs and make it so you cant level trust that way...

How bout you make another friend join you and just do the dungeon with out NPCs?
Story Dungeons are already easy enough, so are the Story mode trials.

How bout just make more friends, or just queue up and do it with randos.

I don't get why anyone would need this, other then " Muh safe space "

Here you go, Croweyes. Is this easier for you to read?

Damn, I guess having 1 or 2 more friends that want to play at the same pace is hard.

Try harder if you want to be a smart ass.

This game's open-ended ToS combined with its murky way of dishing out bans (they won't tell you what you did or said wrong to preserve the accuser, but just trust them, you were naughty!) has led to many people barely even leaving their current social groups to meet others. I have had an easier time making friends while playing a maplestory private server than I had in this game from just doing roulettes or whatever. No one speaks. Roulettes are just gogogo with people saying "hi" and "gg" at best. FCs are mostly fronts for a couple of people to boost their submarines. CWLSes have such a low cap that most have been full for years. For all its talk about "great community," it's actually pretty hard to just go out there and make friends in this game. Not saying you can't do it or anything, just that people are way more guarded in this game than in other mmos. The instancing stuff doesn't really help; it's not like you can meet people out in the open world or whatever. Tons of folks just log in with their set groups, queue up together, and then vanish. I think the moment you play anything else, you feel it right away: if you're starting this game alone, it can be quite difficult to meet new people compared to other games where there's an overworld that people use, or a ToS that doesn't scare people into speaking in voip/tells exclusively. In that regard, I don't think "just make friends" is a good solution for what OP wants. Granted, it is the only realistic solution for OP, but man this game blows for trying to meet new people because folks are clammed up and for good reason. I've seen firsthand what 1 snitch can do to a community.

Honestly, with the direction this game's going in terms of its jobs, I don't even think OP is asking for too much. Maybe a few years ago I would've agreed with Crow on this. Like, on its surface the idea of NPCs standing in for people just seems awful in a multiplayer game. But now? Nobody wants to heal, and healers are barely necessary for the dungeon content OP wants partial-trusts for, so why make people wait 30 minutes for one? To hell with it. The devs ruined the healing role more and more with each patch until nobody wanted to do it, the least they can do is let people play the fun jobs without needing 1 person to capitulate and play a job that feels like shit.

Unlikely to ever happen due to Trust balancing. It's easy to scale Trust damage up or down depending on player output. But there's only so far down you can scale them before they're hitting for 1s while you pump out your full rotation. Adding in even a second player to that massively unbalances the scaling.

Additional troubles arise in terms of player deaths. Solo player dies with Trust, immediate release. Adding a second player means recovering from death in a way Trusts aren't even programed for.

There are more problems as well, which all lead to the simple conclusion of it'll never happen without being more work than it's worth.

How about if they bend and nerf the whole fuc#+ng GAME for those trusts i want to be use em as i like, and not for soul crushing lonely runs? How about we say "YES" to options instead of "lol make more friends"?

I think the idea of partial trust parties is fine. If you want to run content with less than a light party right now you could always try queuing unsynced. That won't work for everything and you might have to do a little planning if someone in the party is way overleveled, but it's something to consider if you haven't already.

It should be possible, although I have no idea of all the coding behind trusts. I do know that when WoW finally introduced their version of trusts in Dragonflight, it was with the ability to queue with other players and npcs, I was impressed and happy about it. I use trusts to level classes I'm not very good at, because I don't want to waste other people's time while I fumble my way through a class I don't know well or don't really like to play.
