They really need to merge Dynamis worlds into Aether, Primal and Crystal

But honestly they definitely jumped the gun on making Dynamis but it's too late to undo it. I don't think getting rid of it is the solution. It would just cause more issues. Part of the problem is the fact it's a self fulfilling prophecy of an issue. The same as "everyone raids on Aether". People say "Dynamis is dead, you need to DC travel if you want to do content." Causes people to leave the DC to do content, thus making the server appear more dead, then more people leave to do content, repeat. If people stopped traveling away in the first place it wouldn't be so bad.

Merging comes with a lot of issues that I don't see them wanting to bother with
- People losing houses
- Two or characters having the same names, so someone has to change (Retainers too, for that matter as when I moved from Brynhildr to Malboro I had to rename my retainer)

with housing, they could create new wards to compensate but I doubt SE would be wanting to do that or how easy of a process that is, all things considered

I think you might be misunderstanding. The two points you made are not impacted by merging, because the server just becomes a part of the DC. For example, Maduin and Seraph might go to Aether, Hali and Cuch go to Crystal, etc.

I disagree, I really like Seraph personally and it doesn’t feel empty in my opinion. I don’t have a problem with getting q’s aside from alliance and frontline and even then there are weekly runs in pf, especially if you check the Dynamis discord. It’s also not a big deal to hop to Crystal for those two. Granted, I’m not exactly sure why they added the newest 4 worlds… but I’m not complaining since I’m a housing ho/designer and got another house on Raff (which does feel empty in comparison I’m the only one in my ward) lol xD

Taking the Dynamis worlds and re-distributing them into Aether/Primal/Crystal is the only real chance they have to flourish.

This data center is never going to have a healthy population otherwise, it doesn't even have a fun label like being the "raid, RP or PVP" data center like the others, it's just "dead". I'm completely reliant on DC travel to get much of anything done, yet we keep getting hit the hardest by not only travel restrictions, but Square-Enix had the goddamn audacity to LOCK US DOWN to prevent anyone from moving out at one point and the only thing it succeeded in doing was convincing a lot of people to leave the moment the lock came off. I've been playing on Maduin for two years now as of December 2nd and I've seen LESS people over time, not more, and I'm willing to ditch my Medium house and flee to Aether while I still bloody can if merges are not on the horizon because I can't deal with this nonsense anymore. I didn't subscribe to play a single-player online game and would like to experience the "M&M" part of this MMO at some damn point this decade, and I'm tired of waiting on this mythical cross-data center DF/PF people keep bringing up to happen because it has about as much evidence to prove its being worked on as frickin' Viera/Hrothgar hats!

It's just beyond frustrating that Square-Enix created this problem when they launched Dynamis WITH data center travel and it's ultimately done more harm than good, and that the only solutions are either promise after promise of a feature that has yet to materialize in any meaningful way, or requires a pay transfer which feels like rewarding them for their own blunder. I'm just so tired and feel so alone now... and if my leaving Maduin only helps to make the problem worse than so be it, I'm not obligated to keep suffering in a vain attempt to fix this mess because I made a huge mistake during character creation.

That wouldn't really work. What they need to do is break all the DCs and redistribute the servers evenly.

Personally, I willingly transferred into Dynamis when it launched, I don't have a house, I used to have one, but after getting it I really didn't see a point in it, so I intentionally let it be demolished, someone else could have the plot if they wanted, and I don't feel my que times are that bad, they used to be significantly worse to be sure, but now? it's usually 14-20 minutes as a DPS, I had about the same que times back in Primal, so it doesn't come off as Dynamis being that much worse off anymore in that front, I see a decent amount of people in cities, or in Limsa and Solution Nine at least, I don't go to other cities, I am in a fairly active FC, we have FC events regularly and the FC chat is always active on all but the wee hours of the night, the overworld is very dead, but that was also something I experienced in other DCs, and it's a known game-wide issue.

All-in-all, I am not really unhappy with Dynamis, I am not sure I am happy with it, but I don't feel any worse than when I used to be in Hyperion, and I am not entirely sure what being "happy" with my DC would be to begin with, there are some elements that it could be doing better, but I feel the ways the DC has improved over its short existence.

This DC has never had the population to justify its existence. It was likely opened as a mistaken assumption that the WoW exodus player boom would continue (Which it did not). It would have been better for everyone had the new worlds just been added to existing data centres.

I have beef with the people on this DC. Not all of them naturally, but I find this DC has the most poorly behaved players of any DC. Almost every instance I've had to kick someone for anything other than going offline, it's a Dynamis player throwing a tempertantrum, or deliberately refusing to play their role appropriately. Some people lack the ability to reflect upon why exactly they needed a "Fresh restart" in the first place, or to make any changes to their behaviour before they came here. So maybe its best for us who play on the old data centres if they keep to themselves.
