At this point if they came down hard on Mod users all the causal players and QoL mod users would get caught in the crossfire and thus lower that all important bottom line.
Mod usage is like the worse kept secret in FF 14. All you have to do is go to X/Bluesky/Reddit/Facebook/whatever and you have people posting screenshots of there modded characters and people just walk bye like that's all cool. Yoshi P has said before they cant just select what mods they go after, they'd have to take them all down and that is a lose/lose situation.
It kinda sucks that for like the third(?) time in a row this has been the case. Maybe they should just accept streamed kills for RWF.
Most mods and plug-ins are still hidden from the stream. It'd have to be console only or using pcs set up by a 3rd party with nothing but XIV installed.
"We don't care about the millions of mods/mare modifying the client to the point that Skyrim SE looks like a kids game and of course RMT/botting running rampant, there is a marketplace where people earn real money for selling mods, but look at them using zoom!, out omg, ban".
Damn. I was hoping for some uproar related to funny tools specifically made to correct the terrible netcode so that they can ban somebody then implement it officially :P
"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."
I don't think they'll stop doing them. No reason to stop just because of a few spoil-sports.
I've thought about this. Before DC travel, I never saw anyone with an Ultimate weapon on Crystal except one time in a dungeon. If they were buying clears a lot, they'd probably all have had them like on Aether. At the time, it was hard to find anyone without one on Aether.Ultimate Weapons and Titles have nearly no value due to how many people just buy clears
So is there some statistical evidence that a lot of people buy them?
I think a lot of people do this throughout the game and probably a lot of clears involve these to some extent. I don't personally care, as long as the people in my party are making progress. It's PvE so it's not really competitive, except during the world first race and that's the only time it's a big issue in my opinion.or use Cheats/Mods
Its the stage that effected the talking point. When homeboy put up that Billboard up in Texas the talking point was Mare, Data-mining, and body mods."We don't care about the millions of mods/mare modifying the client to the point that Skyrim SE looks like a kids game and of course RMT/botting running rampant, there is a marketplace where people earn real money for selling mods, but look at them using zoom!, out omg, ban".
My god, you all need to understand how much I was looking forward to this, I knew there would be addon & plugin drama, it was inevitable, and I was picking out my best popcorn kernels weeks in advance, if anything I am disappointed this is all there is to show, come on, give me something juicer!
Modding is possible on console, it's harder, by a wide margin, but it is, the only way to truly validate it would be to have all machines set up by a third party and keep them under surveillance the entire way through, which would be, well, a bit too insane.
Anyone involved in this cheating should be IP banned, non of them can access the game for at least a year
Ultimates to me, do not matter. Being a "World First" team means nothing the second you log off of this MMO, and there really isn't any E-sports level of hype backing this. Honestly who cares? Yoshi P might pretend to care for PR purposes, but SE and him genuinely doesn't give a damn unless the flow of cash gets interupted on its journey into their bank accounts.
Cheating in high end content is bad. Who would have thought? But if anyone thinks the solution is to just erase plugins and mods, you'll turn this MMO into a dead game overnight. Third party mods prop up a giant portion of this community, SE knows this, and will never for a second act to punish anyone except those who break the "Silent Contract".
at this point they should just hire frosty as world first race overseer. this man does everything for it xD
I'm pretty sure that most other teams cheat aswell, they just havent been caught or hid it better.
Even when 1 or 2 people are streaming, the others can use whatever tools and I'm also pretty sure that most of them arent visible in streams anyway
Also pf is already filled with "p1 bring AM"
so people dont seem to care at all
