Another World First Clear got disqualified due to "Cheating"

I don't get it. The rules are clear. Mods, plugins/Cheats or any other way of getting an advantage over others is forbidden. STILL people keep using them and they keep getting caught. At this point i woulnd't be surprised if Yoshi P and the Team just stopped doing Ultimates.

Ultimate Weapons and Titles have nearly no value due to how many people just buy clears or use Cheats/Mods but i guess those same people refuse to realize that and before you go on with "mods should be allowed yada yada" Squeenix / Yoshi P did set those Rules for THEIR Game. I don't understand why it is so hard to respect that. If you want a Game with Addons or Mods, there is more of them out there than you can ever play.

Plus they probably could have gotten away with it. The person who posted the FRU clear screen wasn't in the clear party, likely one of the team's "9th man" watching the streams privately. The raid leader posted the team roster and the poster was on it. It's typical for hardcore world first teams to have extra members as eagle eyes and advisors for the raid, just they forgot this one detail in the end.

nor i'm surprised. pretty neutral, slightly disappointed in people again.
i mean sure, these events seem pretty scummy on the first time, then second time. and eventually you realise that it is just every time.
high end raiding isn't about fairness or sportsmanship, and the part of it that is, or used to be about skill is shrinking. it is what it is.

how can he be disappointed? he has okayed the release of expansions where skill ceiling is lowered every single time. of course they need to cheat to clear it so fast... because the game no longer expects actual skill.

It's telling that we just had a thread calling out modders that got deleted prior to this incident happening. The dev team doesn't care at all.

This is Final Fantasy XIV, a game that's world-famous for its mod and plugin support. This game has legitimately better mod and add-on support than any other MMO on the market. And many people play this game just for the modding. It's one of the first things you see when you look up the game online. The most popular plugins have been downloaded millions of times. Once again: this is Final Fantasy XIV. That's what this game represents in 2024.

There are more players using Mare than there are using the Steam client. No one is getting caught. Watch as nothing happens as a result of yet another cheating scandal. The developers do not care.

At this point if they came down hard on Mod users all the causal players and QoL mod users would get caught in the crossfire and thus lower that all important bottom line.

Mod usage is like the worse kept secret in FF 14. All you have to do is go to X/Bluesky/Reddit/Facebook/whatever and you have people posting screenshots of there modded characters and people just walk bye like that's all cool. Yoshi P has said before they cant just select what mods they go after, they'd have to take them all down and that is a lose/lose situation.

It kinda sucks that for like the third(?) time in a row this has been the case. Maybe they should just accept streamed kills for RWF.
