This is something I didn't understand. The Armoury system as it stands sounds a lot like the Blue Mage system from FFXI.

Learn skills, Equip Skills in any order you want.

The only part of the Blue Mage system thats missing at this point is the Stats and Trait Bonuses. So why didn't they use them in place of having us buy a few traits that really do nothing but affect affinity, and having us assign stats that seem to do nothing because of the fact that was assign them ourselves they had to balance them to be weaker so someone can't overload one stat.

The next logical step of the system as it was explained before beta started was that what is currently the Physical Level, Point Allotment for Stats and Elemental Affinity, could all be replaced easily with the Blue Magic stat and trait system from XI.

You Equip Healing spells? You get more Mnd, MP, Cure Potency, and minor Vit bonuses.

You Equip Tanking Skills? You get more Vit, HP, Defense, Magic Defense, and enmity gathering boosts.

You Equip DD skills you get more Strength, Dex, and Attack Power.

You equip Nukes, you get more Int, MP, and Magic Potency.

So my suggestion is to go ahead and do this. I'm sure someone else could explain it better then I. But I really just always wondered why they chose to implement physical levels and add in arbitrary systems like Point Allotment when they could have just continued to evolve the Armoury System from what seemed to be its spiritual birthing point.
