On another note, I haven't done Garuda or Mog or Ifrit and I can say, I will do it. Once. After that I might help someone else do it but I refuse to RnG grind it 500 times. I think SE will find that's the standard attitude. Power grinder games died with Windows ME and shoddy RnG kills more MMO's than any bug or lack of content.

Yes, it died in early 2000s and games that handed you everything and killed themselves off because your players have everything after a week are the new cool kid on the block, like Windows 8.

But I really don't see why having to do content many times over for a powerful reward is necessarily a bad thing. It requires sacrifice and determination to get what you want. Victory without sacrifice is fleeting and shallow. Now, that doesn't mean I think the totem drop rates for Ifrit and Moogle are any good, but the concept isn't as toxic to gameplay as many people here may believe.

I completely agree which is why I am doing all Luminary tools where I have guaranteed and predictable progress. But RNG drops where I could do the content 200 million times and get nothing, no thanks. I agree with previous posters, I have done one party for my win on Ifrit (Ironically in that party I got 3 weapons in 3 wins...) and one on Moogle and that's enough for me.

And I agree. I think there should be a sort of guaranteed point drop that can be used to add to a sense of progression so players don't feel the fatigue of random occurrence. Now the amount of points required for the items might have to be raised if they removed random chance, but that's cool with me.
