WoW is progression based, FFXIV is luck based.

Lol, I've been keeping tabs on the hamlet seal drops over the past week and a half; and I'm sure this is purely coincidence, but:
80% of the seals dropped to lalafells
20% of the seals dropped to either hyur or miq'ote
The one time a seal dropped to an elezen, he d/c'd... I've yet to do a hamlet run with a roegadyn but I can already assume they're screwed because they have no tails :x
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
Sorry but this is ignorance at its finest.
These drop rates are a prime example of giving the community what they want. They dont want people to be finished with primals in a matter of weeks, they want it to last. Obviously that is going to depend on the drop rates. If you are able to run over 10 primals a day that means you will get a very low drop rate.
Sure, they could've done it a bit better, but it still wouldn't have been that big of a difference. You got what you all asked for and now everybody complains. Its no excuse, it is a fact. People who were against such low cooldowns long ago said that this was going to happen but you didn't listen.
Why is this so hard to understand.
The drop rates suck now because they are the carrot on a stick keeping a lot of people playing, if they suck in 2.0.. well that will continue to suck
@OP:
Vampire Plant makes Elixir! way better than Dark Matter

Mew!

Agreed, im suprised you make no comment on Damm near everything else needs a party of 8 & you only get 1 reward for a 30min/1hour thing with 8 of you, which means 8 hours (if you win everytime) so each player has a drop which is also ridiculous, if theres party content then there needs to be Party drops.
1 or 2 isnt party drops its solo drops & theres a complete lack of solo in this game, but 4+ is party drops even if the stuff is complete crap its still better than anything we are getting/aren't getting
& i doubt anyone conciders Dark matter a drop (with the exception of leves & hamlet where its kinda balanced) because you get that free gathering.
100% agreed, i like everything so far about 2.0 except what the team is currently showing us in 1.0

what are you even talking about? you have a chance of 8 weapons and tokens dropping in primals (except Garuda which is 8 weapons and guaranteed 2 tokens per run) And then for dungeons you have a chance for a lot more items to drop.Agreed, im suprised you make no comment on Damm near everything else needs a party of 8 & you only get 1 reward for a 30min/1hour thing with 8 of you, which means 8 hours (if you win everytime) so each player has a drop which is also ridiculous, if theres party content then there needs to be Party drops.

I'd settle for worse drop rates if I could get to win #10+ @ Garuda.

Ifrit and Moogle weapons aren't even that good anymore anyway. Grand Company Sergeant and Lieutenant weapons as well as the Giantsgall weapons are comparable or faaaar better and you don't have to put up with the drop rates.

I wanted one of each (Ifrit, Moogle, Garuda, ...) as a memento of 1.0 since they won't be available in ARR. However, as the drops suck that much, I'll consider myself lucky if I can get even one while playing casually. ;_;
Stupidly terrible drop rates need to be obliterated with the crash of Dalamud. Please Yoshi-P!
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
