DLSS causes flickering on text/icons that are elements of the UI

    Hello,

since 7.1 update there's weird issue with DLSS where elements of the UI (afk icon, quest markers, MSQ icon, nameplates etc.) so every element that's not the model but UI in the world is causing texture flickering. For example, as on the gif attached, when in DLSS mode, chocobo flickers but only in places where his texture/model is in front of a UI element, like quest marker for example. It might seem like a minor issue, but its really straining on the eyes and problematic especially with many quests around, player names.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for any inconvenience experienced when trying to play Final Fantasy XIV. For us to better assist you, please respond with the following information:

What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
How often does the issue occur?

Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
When the issue happens, is the PC over heating at all?
Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the issue?
Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

All steps taken to resolve the issue:

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.

    Hello, thanks for the reply.

    PC (not steam)
    How often? Always.
    I'm not running other programs.
It happens always on every character, asked friends who use DLSS option - they have the issue aswell since 7.1
PC is not overheating, not having any issues with it ever.
Nothing was done to the PC, same hardware, I even reinstalled whole computer thinking its on my end, but it was not.
    Borderless/windowed/fullscreen, does not change anything.
I can say is that I have went through the effort of changing > each < graphical option, setting, resolution, (alongside with AMD FSR) each fps limitation and frequency (tested other screens i have in my house too) so and there's just once factor that caused it - DLSS since patch 7.1.

    edit:
    Just to add information
    windows 11 updated
newest Nvidia drivers (tested other 5 driver versions from october, november, september, august and july respectively aswell)
my GPU is rtx 4060ti, changed my settings in nvidia control panel - nothing helped
    issue appears only in ffxiv

Unfortunately I don't have option to provide config file now, but will update it asap

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Please try the following:
    - Please try adjusting/lowering the resolution.
    - Please try running the game as an administrator.
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
    - Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive.
    - Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.

Disable Full Screen Optimizations. To disable this, please find the "ffxiv_dx11.exe" and right click it and select properties. Then under the compatibility tab there will be a check box labeled "Disable Full Screen Optimizations". Check it and click apply.

Open the Nvidia Control Panel and going to 'Manage 3D Settings'. From here, select 'Program Settings' and select Final Fantasy XIV. You should see an option to select the GPU. Make sure it's set to your dedicated graphics card (it may be set to 'Auto' by default)

Delete locally saved content ('Documents' > 'My Games' folder)
When the game is running, open the task manager, click the ‘Details Tab” Find the game and right click it. Select ‘Set Priority’ options to “High”

Hello, sorry for late reply - nothing helped. I tweaked around - issue does not exist when using AMD instead of DLSS - so its clearly something DLSS related after last update.

I even did whole PC reinstall, even tried windows 10 - nothing helped... used old drivers, all types of settings - literally changed every one of them and in various combinations.
