Should the devs remove the tier number?

For PvP. When going into ranked I want them to remove the number. So if you’re diamond just say diamond not Diamond 1 etc. I’ve noticed and heard of people intentionally throwing games to make sure you don’t even make it to the next tier. It’s sad and a waste of time but people do it.

It’s happened to me and people I know. “Well how do you know they threw?” Well for the two times it happened to me the person actually messaged me privately, laughing and said now I need a few more games to get to the next tier and they are the professional thrower of games. And yes I did report that person”

They are far and in between but people like this do exist in PvP and so I think this change will be great. Just show the tier on the portraits not the number.

As in making it invisible to other players while you are going into matches? I agree, that can be removed.

If players actually behave like this and make decisions based on what your actual skill tier is (i.e. making sure you stay in Gold when they see you are currently Gold 1) then this shouldn't be public information anymore - it sucks, but it is what it is. Crystal Credit can debatably be fine though.

Personally I'd prefer if they just dropped the Stars & Riser system altogether and brought back the actual rating system we used to have (Feast era, basically ELO).

Sorry to off-topic a little, but this is my first PVP season and the whole riser thing has me confused. I was expecting an ELO style thing.

How do stars and risers actually work in terms of losses? Can we actually drop down from say diamond to bronze, or do we just go down from say diamond 1 to diamond 5?

You can drop from crystal all the way down to platinum 4. The lowest ya can go once ya hit platinum tier. Won’t go back down to gold again.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! I'm so excited for my first PVP season, even though I don't expect to place very high!
