Audio Lag Since 7.0

I've been having an issue with my audio since the release of 7.0. When sound effects are enabled, if there are too many sound effects playing at once, the game's audio will severely lag and stutter. This doesn't happen in any other game. Any advice?

What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
At what point does the issue occur?
How often does the issue occur?

Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
When the issue happens, is the PC over heating at all?
Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the issue?
Have you already double checked your audio configurations?

All steps taken to resolve the issue:

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.

Oddly enough, the issue seems to have resolved itself with the patch that just released today. Regardless, thank you for your time!
Edit: upon further testing, it is still there. I will grab the system information and reply shortly.

Platform: windows
The issue occurs in combat when there are other players present. It occurs every time I'm in an instanced duty or fighting in the overworld with several people.
I am running Discord and Mozilla Firefox alongside ffxiv, but no other programs.
The issue occurs with every character.
The PC is not overheating when the issue occurs.
No changes to my PC were made when I started experiencing this. The only thing that changed was the release of 7.0.
I have double checked my audio configurations both in game and on my PC.
I have restarted my pc, reinstalled ffxiv, restored game data, updated audio drivers, reset system settings, used different headphones, used no headphones, and changed the audio output format. The only thing that works is turning off sound effects, but I don't want to play without sound effects forever.
