Yes if it's used poorly it hurts instead of helps but I was replying to the notion that the majority of players aren't playing near optimally, in which case rescues might end up being a good thing more often than not, or at worst maybe neutral on average.

Whether or not that is the case it doesn't remove the benefits of rescue when it's used well.

If you've done a duty enough time you've probably be rescued in the same spot by a few healers. One somewhat recent example is the opening AoE attack from the first boss of Dead Ends. Most people move to the "safe" spot upwind, but in reality you can avoid that attack from anywhere even if you're a BLM with Ley Lines down. I've been rescued there enough times to prep Surecast just in case.

Agreed those aren't very different though I think the potential to unintentionally harm with rescue is a little higher. Still not anywhere near bad enough to consider removing it.
