the problem with rescue is that it's a relic of a time when most job didn't have a dash/backdash. For every useful rescue I've seen, I've seen 3 or 4 rescue on people knowing what they were doing (and end in situation where the combinaiton of rescue and dash put you in an unsafe zone, for example). It's really about being able to read the other players, and it's not something easy.
