How do I spend more than 1 hour doing content in this game?

Re-progging. What does that even mean? Either you’ve progged it and need like a two pull reminder or you have already progged it and are teaching in a static who hasn’t progged it. The latter is basically barely even 1 step removed from “playing with friends anything is fun”.

My sub ran out and I've started playing another game. Yesterday I lost track of time and just kept playing until I noticed I was hungry and 6 hours had passed. I had forgotten what that feels like. I can't remember the last time I had that much fun with the gameplay loop in FFXIV or did anything for the enjoyment alone and not rewards.

So many fans of this game recommended unsubbing and playing something else and I wish I had done it sooner. Such good advice. This community really looks out for each other and I'm thankful for it. I look forward to playing a multitude of games instead of this one in the coming years.

Funny, it's not like the "90%" last I checked had all the achievements for all the other content non-savage or ultimate content either. So yeah, there is content that players can absolutely do, if they wanted to and no it doesn't have to be savage or harder content. However, people just don't want to do it. That's fine, but it's poor to pretend the game doesn't have content when it does even if it is older. There's items/pets/minions etc to farm. There are achievements to get which include other items or titles. Give yourself goals, and you will never run out of content easily in FFXIV. That is assuming, you WANT to engage in said content. SE is never going to develop enough content for any one person specifically to their interests. I cleared savage w1 this tier, and that was it for what 4 months? If I ONLY played savage content in this game, then yeah, I would think it's pretty boring and nothing to do. But that would also be pretty stupid to do in a game like XIV. If you choose to only focus on one portion of content in the game than yeah, might as well unsub if you find yourself not having any content.

Seems pretty obvious to me. I invite people to actually engage with other forms of content that they haven't before. Having people complain about lack of content, but then checking their lodestone/fflogs and you see these people barely actually play content beyond the MSQ. Can pass me with the "lack of content" argument. It's obnoxious and delusional.

Also you do not need a static to do raid content, stop spreading this lie already. I've pf'd all of my extreme, savage and ultimate clears since Stormblood. Many people clear in the same way. Some data centers like JP are ENTIRELY PF focused. There are more people in PF in the game pugging this content worldwide than in statics.

That's very true! Yoshi-P wants everyone to see what is on the market in 2024 and put those side by side with FFXIV to make an informed decision about where to spend our time and money. And he doesn't even ask people to return. He's a generous man for helping other gaming companies out with marketing and diverting some of the potential profits this game could make to them instead. For example, since I'm not paying a subscription anymore I instead spent that money on a black friday sale for another game and I've already gotten my money's worth.

The only thing that bothers me when those threads show up, is that absolutely no one has ever things to recommend at current content.

Everytime, people just say: "Go do this content of 10 years ago!" and I get it. It is relevant, it can be fun, but it is not fresh.

And this lack of "fresh" doesn't make it enticing. It is the formula o XIV, but it is an absolute bother of mine that you are meant to *not* spend time in the current new expansion you just bought.

Because often there is nothing to do. No gameplay, anywhere, only in older content to revisit.

I really hope SE shake the foundations someday and make a new expansion worth of being bought.

As it turns out, the people who continue to play or repeatedly return to the game outnumber those who quit completely. And now that I think about it, there's probably a significant venn diagram overlap between people who return and people who continue to use the forum after having 'quit'.

As it turns out, the people who continue to play or repeatedly return to the game outnumber those who quit completely. And now that I think about it, there's probably a significant venn diagram overlap between people who return and people who continue to use the forum after having 'quit'.

Don't know about that one, since the game has had 30 million registered players in total but only has 1-2 million concurrent subscribers at best according to the most accurate estimates. Turns out at least 28 million registered players are not playing anymore. Here's a fun fact: the venn diagram circle of the people who never return is within the circle of those who unsubscribe at any point.
