The problem is we are in a content lull since EW release and at some point you simply have finished the old content.
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
People will complain about anything involving content once they hit end game and have little to do. The reason I single out Savage and to some degree, EX trials is that the ability to complete these pieces of content depends on the community actively engaging in the content over an extended period of time. Unlike other MMOs, FFXIV also has a big disadvantage in that there isn't an easy way to "catch up" on these pieces of content because they are about learning patterns more than having enough damage or damage reduction to survive the fights.
The design got pushed a lot in Endwalker during p9s-p12s with p10s and p12s being the standout ones. If one person simply not knowing a fight can stop the entire group from progressing, it means the content is not going to be repeatable for very long once the most active and engaged players stop doing the content.
Meanwhile, as much as people might HATE Eureka and Bozja, they are always doable by anyone at any time because they are merely grinding systems. If they offered the same gear progression as savage and somehow roped that into a Bozja like content, there would definitely be a healthier long term system in place than the panicked rush and anxiety the limited time savage system causes. I think this also is the case because people aren't doing savage because it is fun but because it gives a sense of community, and simply ceasing to engage in savage would mean no longer being a part of that community or social group. The gear and glamour is kind of the on-ramp to it.
Yeah I can imagine it would be difficult to find people on Dynamis, though I wouldn't know for sure since I haven't been there. From what I've heard Seraph seems to have quite a lot of people, but I don't know how much that would help.
In any case, I don't think you should worry too much about dying. Mistakes happen in the game and it's okay to fail. No one should be giving you a hard time for it, as we've all been there when we were just starting out. It's a natural part of the game and you'll find yourself improving the more you play and experience these mechanics.
I believe you've mentioned before that you are only partway through Stormblood, correct? At least given by your Susano comment.
What truly matters is that you have fun.
That's a fair argument. I mostly meant my response to the few posts I've seen dismissing Eureka/Bozja purely because the content is old. I don't know what everyone here has done, including the original poster that I made my initial suggestions to.We aren’t knocking old content but there are two “qualifiers” on that statement
1) A lot of us have already done that content when it was current. Not everyone is a fresh faced EW baby who has 10 years of backlog to do and is only avoiding eureka because their friends said it was bad
2) an expansion that raises the level cap should have adequate content at the level cap for those that wish to engage with it at all levels; especially in a game that syncs your skills down. PCT is one of the best job syncs in the game and I still actively find the job way less fun before you get rainbow drip and the upgrade to starry muse that lets you generate flowers. I want to play more casual content as a PCT at level 100. Bozja while I adore it leaves you with its slightly wonky level 80 kit. AND PCT SYNCS WELL by most standards
I also agree regarding how level syncing is handled, and that there are quite a few jobs that are pretty different depending on what level they are at. I couldn't imagine going into Eureka as a viper, for example. The game should have more content for people to play around with the new kits they have, especially when the developers add more jobs. I think the developers would really benefit from releasing new patches within a shorter timeframe than they have been.
If I had to guess, it's Ascian Prime's Dualstar, the way the mechanic works is that you will be given three sets of spheres, one in the center and two in the corner, the spheres are connected by a tether, and they will be pulled to the center of their connection and explode, and you have to dodge the AoEs based on their element, fire are circle AoEs, ice are donuts, the kicker is, the window for dodging is unexpectedly tight, and you basically need to be moving to the next safe spot before the first set resolves, worse, because of how the spheres are arranged, someone getting hit by the second explosion will always be hit by two overlapping explosions, which guaranteed kills anything that isn't a Tank, and if the person who eats the explosions is the Healer, and one of the DPS isn't a SMN(RDM doesn't count, Verraise is level 64 and this is a level 60 dungeon), it's basically a guaranteed wipe, as Ascian Prime will fire a barrage of unavoidable damage mechanics immediately after, and even if the Tank lives, they will then do their limitbreak right after, a Tank alone can't stop it before it fully charges, and then that's a wipe.
I always have a "...oh dear." moment whenever I walk into that dungeon, and if we make out of it with only one wipe I count it as a huge success, zero wipes is reason for outright celebration, I had a particularly bad one where I joined an in-progress Aetherochemical Research Facility run 76 minutes in, they were stuck there almost the entire lockout, and it led to a Vote Abandon a few more pull attempts after, it sucked that I lost my que time, but I was actually feeling too bad about the other DPS, who just went "I am so tired..." in chat immediately before the vote.
If it's any consolation, the last time I was there we wiped a few times before people managed to get it. I personally don't like the change they made because I preferred the old version, it feels like they're trying so hard to reinvent the wheel sometimes. I used to run that dungeon often for poetics but now it really isn't worth running.
Before it got reworked it was pretty alright, definitely better than falling asleep to Nero's speech back when prae was 8 man (I mean I still struggle not to fall asleep while Nero rants)
I assume they want the old MSQ stuff to be more of an onboarding process for more modern things, like how Ultima Weapon has some toned down UWU mechanics, but Ascian Prime is rough. Even ignoring Dualstar, people have trouble with chains because they start running before the chains form or start too far apart. If it's any consolation, the last time I was there we wiped a few times before people managed to get it.
