It’s likely going to be an absolute mess and will probably die shortly after release as these desperate cash-grab mobile games always do lol

I'm under the impression the mobile version will be better when it comes to customization (such as having a hair style linked to a glam plate or something) but be completely outclassed in every regard. There is no reality where it features better gameplay. Either it has to be extremely dumbed down to a point that would make a Healer rotation look hard or
The mobile version clearly isn't meant for anyone who uses these forums or even those who play the game itself. It's a mobile game so it's going to be bad in just about every regard but people will eat it up since the mobile market is just free money. As much as I hate to admit it, people on PC and Console are the absolute minority for gaming.
Could be wrong of me to say but I do hope that the mobile game doesn't succeed, only because of my disdain for mobile games.

Switch over as in stop playing the main game and invest all your time in the mobile one? I wouldn’t trust SE with a mobile title even half that much. Just look at FFXI mobile, FFXI grandmasters, final fantasy record keeper, mobius final fantasy, dissidia opera omnia and final fantasy 7 the first soldier (that one didn’t even last a whole year).

It’s just gonna be a social/glam/minigame app with very rudimentary content that’ll consist of pre-scripted inputs and gameplay.

Based on everything I've seen of it, and it's a lot, they've remade just about every aspect of the game. The main difference is going to be that it makes sense for mobiles, so you can play it on the go. In other words, you know how the hotbars are 4 buttons when playing as scions? It'll probably be like that.
Based on the footage, it looks slightly better than what we have now in ARR, although to be fair they are working with a smaller resolution.
As I said in the other thread, if they give every person a house in the mobile version, it'll raise questions about the inability of Square Enix to do that in the regular version.

I put money on it that the stacking hot bars was part of this too. Also, FFXI gives everyone a customizable mog house. Even if FFXIV was the most poorly coded game there is no way it can't do what a PS2 dev kit game can do.In other words, you know how the hotbars are 4 buttons when playing as scions? Not really as like you just said it looks like they remade every part of the game that could include stripping away areas, dungeons quests etc that was also in ARR.Based on everything I've seen of it, and it's a lot, they've remade just about every aspect of the game.
I think their main excuse that they've kept using is server load as to the reason we can't have more houses. But at the same time they contradict themselves i.e with retainers they have said they cant give us more than 2 because of server load BUT everyone can have the ability to buy more lol

Well yes, both those things are true. Not really as like you just said it looks like they remade every part of the game that could include stripping away areas, dungeons quests etc that was also in ARR.

But it doesn't change the fact that SE has struggled to do something for 11 years that an online MOBILE game (which happens to be a remake of the same game) is probably going to achieve. If it does, it'll show that when other developers are faced with the exact same challenge making the exact same game, they don't have this issue.
It remains to be seen if they will have restrictions on it in a similar fashion, but I just have a feeling they won't have these issues unless SE forces them to so that it doesn't raise questions.
Though I don't like to be critical, this is an obvious issue they've had plenty of time (11 years) and opportunity (Island Sanctuary, apartments) to solve and not done so. So I just can't help but point out the irony that a mobile game may potentially do it before they can.
You know what? It'll probably work better and not need glitches. Apparently they've been working on it for 5 years, which is a lot longer than SE had for ARR.

That's the thing even if it's not the reasons above it will be due to Ps4, Ps5, "insert limitations excuse". Stupid problems that have existed since ARR and along the expansions baitbox, glamour limitations, Housing, extra retainers, increased inventory (cant load more assets BUT pay extra and we can make it possible with an extra saddlebag LOL) Even when they introduced apartments they said they could keep adding more as soon as they fill but on some servers they're at their limit too.Well yes, both those things are true.
