XIV youtube videos would be so much more tolerable if everyone wasn't trying to shoehorn their WoLs as their avatars and attempting to be funny with it...The rabbit hole of failure is much deeper than you think. See,

Extra points for dudes using the talk emote to voice their female character in the video.

Well, I'd say I only log on 1 or 2 times a week to finish my weekly activities: HL Tomestone, Raid Alliance 1x for the token, M4 for the Weapon token.
But I also open my windows to ventilate my housings.
And the rest of the time, I'm on HSR & Zenless and playing other games.
It's highly probable that I would have stopped my subscription without housing and gone back to 7.2.
I've been bored since MSQ 7.0
The zones are boring and the only BGM I listen to is Pathmaker, the Dawntrail dungeon boss theme. It's a banger, but it's a shame it's the only thing. The BGM for Raid Alliance and Arcadion bores me, so I turn the music off. Just like at Tuli-Jazz.

Still Useless... To have so many Commendations in 2024
NGL, Reyntime being a straight cut throat Midlander waifu now kinda blowing my mind. Got too used to Hildibrand.
On topic, my LSes and FC are silent as usual, mostly. People don't unsub and stay dormant between major patches. Maybe some of them unsub and resub, but I haven't heard anyone complain about the hassle of doing that, so I assume that they don't. I don't think I've heard from any of my in game friends directly the words, "I'm quitting XIV." Forum and ex-forum buds though... plenty of them have quit or are in the process of letting subs lapse.
I really thought I'd be unsubbing this patch, and I guess I might still but idk. I enjoy posting on the forums still a bit, even though I'm way less active and regarded as a troll or what have you.
The FFXI 24 man did stick the landing for me, and I do want all of that music. I guess you could call me a rube. The game's quality is really low atm outside of that.
I will say though, XIV isn't topping my list of what I spend my time playing first and foremost. It's XI, Dragon Quest III HD2D, and old games at the moment. XIV when I have time for a 24 man or two and feel like something faster paced.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
Forgot how quickly I lose brain cells when I read forum posts.
I wouldn’t say PotD was loved for leveling, it was merely a possible alternative. Lord knows it got tedious and boring doing 50-60 for the hundredth time. And lets not forget - the EXP payout is not good enough to keep up with Dungeons (even factoring in DPS queues) or Secrets of the Realm Alliance spam. PotD was loved because it was an alternative to dungeon spam due to the shorter queues. Not quite as good as dungeons, but still more than enough.
