Glamour Outfits are embarrassingly badly implemented

I genuinely don't understand the design of the new Glamour Outfits, because it feels like it should have been such an easy addition to the Glamour Dresser. Being able to arrange a full armour set into one slot is a very good change, but combining them into a set removes the (potentially expensive) dyes already on it, and you also can't even dye them after combining them, making it pointless over just storing the set in the Armoire and getting an extra Glamour Dresser slot from it. On top of that, sets with alternate gear pieces like the Island Sanctuary sets need to be stored as two separate outfits, forcing you to get multiple of the same item rather than just allowing any of the alternate gear to complete the set and store both versions in one outfit slot.

The code for the Dresser is famously shaky, but surely it can't be so bad that it has to make a worse version of the already highly-limited Armoire to store items with dye data that the code already has a system for. I'd genuinely rather have them add a new "Armour Set" option to the Armoire that works in the way it does now, because at least then it's consistent with how the rest of it works.

Na, I remember hearing this as well. When someone used the housing glamour dresser, and someone else moved or removed it, the server went buh-bye. Many video games are held together by duct tape and prayers lol.

I'm pretty sure this has to do with the fact that only being able to put on glamour plates in sanctuaries/large cities is a leftover from 1.0.

Outfit Glamour - An Excellent Implemented Feature for Glamour Dresser / Gender-Items Unlocked for All

This feature really took me by surprise and I really like it.
I was waiting for an increase of slots in the Glamour Dresser, but this is way better.
That combined with the fact that some items can now be equipped regardless of gender implemented features lead to consider that a lot of good work has been put into those features.

-Slots-
So far, I have been able to insert around 70 Outfits into the Glamour Dresser.
So I was able to recuperate around 200 slots.
Now I have more room to buy other attire.

I could have retrieved around 10 more slots if some Costume-Set pieces weren't stored multiple (x2) times.
Thinking of how Costume Sets are organized, the implementation is understandable.
It seems like each Outfit can only store 1 item for each slot-type (Head, Body, Hands, Legs, Feet, etc.).
There might have serious technical barriers that prevent storing 2 items attached to the same slot-type in an Outfit.
(2 legs items into an Outfit)

It might be overcome in time depending on the success of the implementation of those features.
Will those features boost the transactions on the Online Store?
If it does, SE might invest in removing those constraints.

- Dye -
I've been avoiding applying dyes directly to attire pieces before storing them to the Glamour Dresser, applying dyes only on Glamour Plates.
It I need to change color and buy them in-game or from the Online Store, at 1$ a pot or 7.50$ for 10 pots.
In time, more colors might be implemented.


Those features were implemented to increase the income from the Online Store.
Supporting those features is to support the game overall.
All games are somehow customization oriented.

The fact that encountering a single bug while developing a new feature made them give up and the community just accepts that as reasonable is astonishing.

I was honestly fine with most of the implementation (having to get multiple copies of one item is stupid, but whatever, it's something else to work towards), but what really tilted me is seeing that we cannot save the actual Makai Gear as Glamour Outfits, but we CAN store the Tarnished Makai Gear (the Gold Saucer copies) as one. Feel kind of shafted, having done so much PVP to get every single Makai item.

I really hope more items get the Glamour Outfit feature in the future.

- Right, so although they've stated that we're only able to store a specific selection of items in the Glamour Dresser as Outfits - namely Lv.1 glam gear - they do plan on expanding the Outfit category to cover more sets in the future. As the Tarnished Makai gear are Lv1 glam version of the actual Makai gear - so the Tarnished gear is Outfit ready.
- As someone whose done enough PvP to also purchase all of the Makai gear, I was also frustrated with how much room it took up in my Glamour Dresser - however, don't be too afraid to trash the gear that you're not currently using. Once you've purchased a piece of Makai gear from the Wolves' Den you're able to re-purchase the same pieces from a Calamity Salvager (one in each of the three starter cities) or a Journeyman Salvager (housing vendor) for 1,000 gil each.
