    I will not hold my breath, but I'd really like some answers... as would a lot of Machinists out there.

    Another thing that always confused me was the spiel regarding a lack of PCT nerf do to the job being enjoyable for players. MCH is the second most played Phys-ranged and certainly not underplayed overall and yet it remains one of, if not the weakest all while people still enjoy playing it. The antithesis of the PCT balance reasoning.

    I truly do not know anymore. Thank you all for your input so far, please do say anything you feel is relevant especially if you play MCH in any capacity yourself.

    Long time MCH player here, I've played every iteration of the job from HW until DT. My honest opinion is that after Stormblood, the job just completely lost its identity, it's just a contradiction, it's a selfish damage dealer in the same role as the support jobs (and being balanced as such) while also being taxed far heavier than the other selfish jobs for free movement, it just doesn't know what it wants to be after the Shadowbringers rework.

    That's not to say that you can't enjoy ShB+ MCH, I just feel that it lacks a strong identity ever since the devs departed from their original vision for MCH in HW. Now in DT, we have a job with multiple disparate systems with barely anything other than a strenuous link to each other.

    Tools don't interact with the kit except for the ones that give battery. Heat barely interacts with anything. The Automaton Queen is nothing but a DoT. And Flamethrower went from an integral part of the rotation in SB to an emote you use in Limsa post-ShB. They all mash together to create something resembling a playable job, but it's so disjointed that there's not really a way to move forward.

    MCH, despite being a job without much of a strict rotation, is an extremely rigid job. MCH, despite having one of the lower button counts among jobs, has a very high amount of bloat. I hope SE can untangle this walking contradiction of a job, but my hopes aren't high.

    I think newly released jobs will always be popular, even if they are released in a weak state. Most players in this game are not dealing with DPS checks to begin with.

    Who seriously thinks their job is getting meaningful buffs, when most DPS jobs in the game are being buffed? How is this any different than seeing 1 or 2 jobs being nerfed? If anything, it is worse, since it makes balancing the game harder. This whole situation is hurting MCH even more, and I think the developers are mistaking what the community wants, maybe even underestimating its intelligence.

    I would change flamethrower into a turret you set down and it continues flaming in the direction you aimed it

    Wildfire should have in its tooltip "Crit/DH hit buffs instead increase the potency of this weaponskill"

    Auto crossbow should refresh check/double check, period.

    Thats for my suggestions, at least It would be slightly more interesting that the 10 potency buffs to drill

    I've whined about auto crossbow in i forget how many posts at this point but it's reasurring to see we all want it to interact with gauss round/checkmate and ricochet/double check. Flame throw Should either just be a dot with a cool animation or a high damage quick cast fire skill. give it interaction with heat again while your'e at it.

    Mch should be the reaper of phys range. better dmg than other phys range with 3% raid buff. Trust me the job will get viable to I can compete against BRD or DNC for a spot.

    A raid buff as mentioned would be the simplest solution at this point, yes. Boring but necessary to correctly balance it.

    Maybe they could place down the turret and have the turret cause the target to take more damage! Let's call it... Legacy Hypercharge! The full turret ability could do this:

    Deploys an area of effect battle turret which will deliver auto-attacks to enemies within range with a potency of 60 for the first enemy, 10% less for the second, 20% less for the third, 30% less for the fourth, 40% less for the fifth, and 50% less for all remaining enemies.
    Hypercharge Potency: 90
    Hypercharge Effect: Increases target's damage taken by 5%
    Duration: 10s,
    Shares a recast timer with Rook Autoturret.

    Take this for what it's worth from a PvP MCH main and PvE part time MCH enjoyer but I think the ammo system is pretty neat. I wouldn't mind if they brought some version of that back.

    Also please add an option to hide the lunchbox.
