Except that according to a few NPCs at this point the Crystal Tower is an already extant location that has been under Mor Dhona for literally ages:

In point of fact it is likely the the entrance will be a place that is visited in an Echo related cutscene by Limsa Lominsans. Or you can just go there if you have the gall. Its a place in Mor Dhona called the Tomb of Xande,

I was thinking more Final Fantasy III. We enter a crystal tower, climb its depths, and face a cloud of darkness.

Illustrates a good point though. I used to think Meteor was going to hit Eorzea and that was going to reshape it. More recently, however, I saw a theory suggesting that Meteor was going to be stopped (by us, presumably) and Meteor would get close but not actually hit Eorzea. However, the gravity of the Meteor would reshape the planet. Including what you have suggested.

Anyone else thinking this is what will happen?

Again quoting an NPC in game already:

My prayer is that they will leave the handful of Smolenkos in front of the entrance so that its actually a challenge to get to the entrance in the first place, i.e. you have to have a group practice subtlety and care to get in in the first place, but they won't.
