Me, while leveling Reaper, Viper, Pictomancer, Sage, and all of my Crafting jobs.

So-called "Battle" dailies from Endwalker add 3 million XP. "Crafting" dailies from Endwalker added 3-5 million XP. Combine that with Hunts (3 million XP in Endwalker), daily Main Story roulettes (XP relative to current level) and FATEs encountered while finishing Hunts, one can gain close to a level within 30 minutes + the time for the Main Story roulette to complete.

"Guys please, I have 4 jobs left I've yet to hit max level with, and it's just going to kill me if it takes me 10 more minutes per day to do so!"

Is this the hill we're really dying on? You almost get a level a day just doing MSQ/Frontlines daily, isn't that enough already? Besides, you wouldn't trade the current situation for anything at all longer even if it was enjoyable content? Or are you leveling a bunch of jobs for a game you don't find enjoyable or trust to be enjoyable, which is ... kind of sad to hear.

I'm leveling the new bunch of jobs that have risen over the last 4 years or so, after which I can spend the next two years hitting max level on all of them. I don't do PvP, so Frontlines is out. I don't find the content I do play to be unenjoyable, although it appears that the ones I've mentioned bring you no joy. Perhaps I only have 30 minutes or an hour on any given weekday to play, and these fit nicely into my routine. Perhaps I can go for a few weeks of not playing at all because I have a life outside of this game.

But no, I have to hate the jobs, or hate the game because ... I level new jobs the way I've decided to do so? What a weird take.

Lack of meaningful gameplay has been a general issue with XIV's questing experience since ARR.

Everything between the solo duties, dungeons, and trials in the MSQ tends to just feel like fluff because it's some variant of "go to spot and talk to NPC/examine sparkly things" and if you're lucky you'll get to fight an enemy or two that pose almost no threat and keel over in a matter of seconds.

No, but you level them through 5 minute free exp, a roulette that caps jobs to their bare minimum and Hunts that are, from my experience anyway (granted, a biased experience on this one), a hodgepodge of killing something through sheer player numbers more than anything, while telling people who want something more interactive and requiring more effort that that's a bad thing. You don't think that's not necessarily sending a somewhat negative message? You're the one who also said that "New and exciting" has a bad track record and ... I dunno, again, that's not a bit of a doomer take? Low effort content that gives free exp is better than experimental content that involves gameplay that, sure some might dislike, but I'd still take the risk every single time, and wish SE would do, at the very least for the general health of the game.

Maybe I'm wrong but to me it just looks like you want to level for the sake of it. I don't believe that, of course. But it comes off that way, for better or worse.

Best part is the NPC that keeps mentioning an "inner abacus" over and over. Like, no one cares.

I genuinely thought the Qitari was the worst thing (basically the serpent is the only thing that was carrying the interest) but the whole abacus bit makes my eyes roll over

I seriously want to know if *anyone* is laughing at those moments.

Here's a thought experiment for you to complete.

Design a Tribal quest that you believe meets your required criteria. Specify what is being asked of you, what you need to do in order to complete the quest, and how much time it should take. Specify how hard performing the tasks for the quest should be. (Might be good to compare them to Duties if it involves that sort of scenario). Then specify the rewards. Try to be as thorough as possible. Present your results for critique.

Remember, it has to be something that you'd be happy to do yourself. Without such effort, telling the developers you want something "more interactive and requiring more effort " is a no more than rank generalization.

Having to Guess Your Requirements is a losing game for developers. Take a bit of time and produce something they can actually work with.

I don't "look forward" to them because I find them boring, but I appreciate them to level jobs I don't like running normally like tanks.

I liked some of the other society quests more, like those in Ultime Thule. I found the concepts behind the lost civilizations to just be more interesting to read, and the development of the zone / coffee shop was interesting to me. As was the narrative of helping these constructs find reasons to want to exist.

The DT society quest so far has pretty uninteresting writing. I don't really care about tourism to their continent and the tasks I'm doing are not interesting. But at least they are fast and decent XP so I can't complain that much. I would have preferred a more interesting concept though than a travel agency. It's about as interesting as the Door Dash ones from EW that also were boring.
