Minimalist Design Needs Colors, Older Designs Need no Pillar Varients

This update could have been so good, but it is basically usless unless you love souless millenial style. Ironic they joked about that in the livestream...

Minimalist needs to be offered in every dye color.

The original styles need to be offered without pillars.

It would be nice if the original styles also offered a version with the improved stair placements of the minimalist style, with more open space under the stairs, but I could make do with no pillars.

I absolutely agree, but the minimalist style is still useful. I tend to completely cover my walls and I love the extra space it offers, removal of pillars especially in a large, as well as the staircase alignment in the medium.

I was excited when they announced the option to remove the pillars. It's a shame that just... isn't what we got.

Between that and the 2nd dye channel situation, I've learned to take these kinds of promises with a handful of salt.

Another issue with the minimalist interior is it didn't include minimalist partitions and doors; the existing partitions available clash to the point it's extremely difficult to decide what to use. Also, the hitboxes for the walls haven't changed and the boxes around the stairwells are still too large to be able to place partitions so they're flush with the edges. Something else that would be helpful would be if rug-type furnishings could be scaled to different sizes, so players don't have to constantly adjust partition placement to accommodate specific mats nor require multiple copies of a certain mat type to fill a desired floorspace. It would also help players if blank partitions could be set so they either match the design applied to the floor they're placed on or a separate design set in the interior remodel menu; having to craft/buy a separate wallpaper for each partition is very time-consuming and expensive.
