No it wouldn't be weird for her to be not mentioned, the fact that she is mentioned is weird. "Wuk Lamat chose well" is a pretty damn weird way to compliment our actions.

he literally knows us through Wuk Lamat choosing us to be her allies during the competition he lost in
And we are here with him as individuals on an investigation into an anomaly, we are not doing something in Wuk Lamat's name. During the rite of succession that sort of wording would have somewhat made sense. But "[Someone] chose well" is a compliment you give to a subordinate of someone, like if someone was complimenting the prowess of a maelstrom commander by saying "Merlwyb chose well".

He knows us directly because we pulled Wuk Lamat's ass out of the fire when he kidnapped her, and we made him afraid without even beating him up.
It is entirely weird for him to compliment us that way, as it simultaneously praises Wuk more than it does us.
She's not here. Her judgment had nothing to do with getting our aid, that was Erenville's judgment. Her judgment has nothing to do with our strength. There is 0 reason to praise her.
It'd be way cooler if he realized we were the ones that killed the other Blessed Sibling in Wanderer's Palace HM and said something like, "No wonder Manxome Molaal Ja Ja didn't make it home..."
But no, this is Dawntrail, so they have to take every opportunity to fellate Wookiee Lamar.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
how would Bakool Ja Ja know we were the ones that defeated the other blessed sibling? there's part of the MSQ where he is brought up and we intentionally glaze past it because why would we admit to being the one to defeat him when these people had just begun to open up and talk to us. As far as the Mamool Ja know he's missingHe knows us directly because we pulled Wuk Lamat's ass out of the fire when he kidnapped her, and we made him afraid without even beating him up.

and how would he know that it was Erenville that suggested us to begin with? When he first met us it was with Wuk Lamat getting food and as far as he was concerned, she chose us to be our ally
she very much could have still declined seeking our aid regardless of what her friend had said if we didn't meet her expectations
"Wuk Lamat chose her ally well" is not weird
would it have been cool for it to be referenced again?
Yeah, sure, I love when the game makes callbacks and references to other events I've done but I don't think it would have made sense for him to assume that the other blessed sibling was defeated by our hand
